Still not pregnant👎🏼

... Read moreSeeing that 'single pink line' on a pregnancy test, indicating a negative result, can truly crush your spirit, especially when you're desperately hoping for a positive. I've been there, staring at that test on the sink, feeling that wave of disappointment wash over me. It’s hard not to feel like you’re doing something wrong or that it will never happen. But please know, you are not alone in this feeling of 'not being pregnant' yet. After countless negative results, I started to research why this might be happening. Sometimes, it’s simply about timing. Testing too early, before your body has produced enough hCG, can definitely lead to a false negative. The sensitivity of the pregnancy test itself also plays a huge role; some tests are more sensitive than others. Always check the packaging for the hCG level they detect. My advice? Try to wait until or after your missed period if you can, and always use first-morning urine for the most accurate results. Beyond timing, there are several things I've learned that might help increase your chances of eventually seeing that coveted 'positive pregnancy test.' Firstly, really understanding your cycle is key. I started tracking my ovulation using ovulation predictor kits (OPKs) and even basal body temperature (BBT) charting. This helped pinpoint my most fertile window, ensuring we were timing intercourse correctly. It felt a bit clinical at first, but it gave me a sense of control. Lifestyle adjustments also came into play. I focused on a balanced diet, incorporated moderate exercise, and really tried to manage stress – easier said than done on a TTC journey, right? But things like gentle yoga, meditation apps, and just taking time for myself made a difference in my overall well-being. And, of course, taking a good prenatal vitamin with folic acid is a non-negotiable for anyone trying to conceive. It’s also important to know when to seek professional help. While it feels intensely personal, if you’re under 35 and have been trying for a year without success, or over 35 and trying for six months, it's generally recommended to talk to a doctor. They can run tests for both partners to identify any underlying issues. This step can feel daunting, but it’s about getting answers and creating a plan. Remember, this journey is a marathon, not a sprint. There will be days when the disappointment of that 'single pink line' feels overwhelming, and the thought of 'not being pregnant' again is almost too much to bear. But hold onto hope. Connect with others in the #ttccommunity; their stories and support are invaluable. We’re all in this together, and every negative test is just one step closer to the positive you're dreaming of. Keep believing, keep trying, and keep taking care of yourself. You are strong, and your time will come.

It took me about a year off of birth control (nexplanon) to finally get pregnant. The best thing I can suggest is have sex as usual but make the foreplay more sensual to get the juice flowing, have sex with passion, sleep with a towel between your legs with the “stuff” still in. It will take time but it will happen🩷
