My Weekends ✨

I work in retail so my "weekends" are really just whatever day I have off. However, lately my boss lady has been giving me Saturdays off so I guess I could say I do get a weekend lol this week I had today off and I'll have Saturday off but honestly, this is so much better for me, mentally, than my corporate job ever was. I haaaate having Saturday and Sunday off. It's the same as everyone else and personally, I loathe going ANYWHERE if there's a million other people there too so I love having my weekday breaks. And gfd I'll never go back to corporate or medical. Retail is where I'm choosing to die. I do not want a career type job anymore. It's not worth my mental health because these "big girl jobs" stole my 20s and made me so incredibly depressed. I'm just out here livin for me now 😌 and I get to do makeup and be creative every single day!

Anyway:

I usually start my day at 11am and make breakfast or go get food but I'm trying not to spend $$$. Then I'll lay in bed and stare at my phone for hours if I'm feeling nonverbal lmao. My husband has already taken the dog out at about 10am so her and I just cuddle all day. I'll get out to go for a walk, get the mail that collected over the week, or go for a drive and then just come home and read all day. Oh! Today actually went to the lake for the first time in a while! I love to just go and sit in my car and read or get out and go down the path to the marina. I live on the lake and I never go out there anymore. Like I said, work life ruined my mental heath 🙃 And that is why I don't want kids. This is my perfect life. At 29, I would literally die if this ever changed.

... Read moreIn today's fast-paced world, the concept of a weekend can vary greatly, especially for those in retail. Many retail workers thrive on having days off that differ from the traditional Saturday and Sunday, allowing them to enjoy less crowded spaces and embrace personal tranquility. The importance of mental health cannot be overstated, especially when grappling with the demands of corporate jobs. Striving for a balanced lifestyle that nurtures creativity and personal joy is essential. Taking time for self-care by enjoying nature, such as visiting lakes or reading, can significantly enhance one’s well-being. For those in similar situations, developing a routine during off days can be immensely beneficial. Morning rituals, like making breakfast or going for a walk, help set a positive tone for the day. Utilizing quieter times to engage in hobbies or explore new interests can lead to greater satisfaction in life. Moreover, the retail environment fosters unique opportunities to connect with customers creatively, which can bring fulfillment and purpose. To truly live a fulfilling life, it’s crucial to prioritize what brings joy, whether it’s spending time with a pet, indulging in a good book, or simply soaking in the peaceful surroundings of nature. Finding ways to escape the hustle while maintaining a fulfilling career creates a more harmonious existence. Remember, weekends don’t have to conform to societal expectations; they should be tailored to fit individual lifestyles and preferences.

Having whatever days off and weekend is just a part of retail and so relatable 😭 Only the higher level managers get the weekend off mostly.
