We've lived in this area for 5 years! I almost can't believe how long ago we moved here! I remember it was during Covid and I barely had a job after being let go but the turn around for us has been so amazing and I don't thank any god, I think it was just the universe giving back after we went through some really heart breakingly rough times. It's just nice to finally be back on top! I can't wait to share the new place too omg! We move in August
We looked around for about a week and sadly rent has gone way up since 2020. I remember when we found 2 bedroom places for under $1600 but now we are in the $2000s ??? And the area I live in is supposed to actually be quite affordable. Anyway we went with a 1br town home situation with an attached garage! It's super gorgeous!
I personally do not ever want to own a home. I don't want to deal with property taxes, whatever escrow is, HOA, damages that I have to fix, upkeep, and learning how to sell if we wanted to I just don't ever want to do that much work for something that's supposed to be a "better investment". Plus I'm a small space kind of gal. I don't ever want kids so this is perfect for me.
