🤍 settling in 🤍
We finally got it all done! Here's a mini blog about it if you're interested:
The past 5 days haven't been super fun. I was having ups and downs with the new place because of the noise upstairs but I think I overreacted. I'm still annoyed we live under a family of 4 but I can't control that and I certainly can't tell them to not let their kids soundingly bodyslam each other. I've been to therapy for my control issues. I'm learning to let it go. It would be nice if kids weren't the noisiest things on the planet though.
We brought the pets over to finally move in and while my dog is ecstatic to be here, my cat is being a whiney baby and required a double dose of natural tranquilizer to stop her yowling when I simply left the room to use the restroom or grab my slippers from the bedroom. She is attached to me. Not my husband tho... he's free to go where he wants in peace.
Anyway, I know it doesn't sound like it but I'm really enjoying this new place. All of the rooms are so much bigger than the old place and the bathtub is deeper! I've already had a bubble bath 😌 the appliances are gorgeous and we even got to keep our washer and dryer!
We won't have a couch until the 10th though and in the meantime, we still have half a week to deep clean the old place and turn in our keys.

Moving into a new home is both exciting and challenging. With change comes noise, adjustments, and finding comfort in unfamiliar spaces. If you’re also navigating the transition of a new apartment, consider creating a cozy nook to help ease the process. Some useful tips include introducing familiar items from your old space to create a sense of continuity. It can help if you bring along favorite decorations or mementos that remind you of your previous home. Also, engage with your neighbors; sometimes, a friendly introduction can lead to peaceful insights regarding any disturbances. Additionally, setting expectations within your new living situation is vital, especially if you have pets adjusting to the noise or new surroundings. Give your pets time to acclimatize, ensuring their comfort with calming techniques if necessary. Lastly, transform the space physically and emotionally by adding personal touches. Incorporate the elements of your style and personality, whether it’s painting some walls or rearranging furniture until everything feels right. Remember, each transition is a chance to build new memories and experiences in a place that can truly feel like 'home' once you settle in.
