POTS Bingo… and yep, I got BINGO
Living with POTS means my body likes to surprise me daily—and not in the fun way. I saw this bingo and couldn’t not mark it up. From dizzy spells to salt cravings, weird heart rates to the daily dance of “am I dehydrated or dying?”… if you know, you know.
POTS isn’t cute, but I try to keep my humor even when my nervous system forgets how to nervous system. This life is a mix of compression socks, electrolytes, and learning how to rest without guilt.
So here’s my POTS Bingo—loud, proud, and a little lighthearted, even when the struggle’s real.
To anyone else dealing with dysautonomia: I see you. We’re not alone, even if it feels like it sometimes.

When I first stumbled upon the idea of 'POTS Bingo,' it felt like a lightbulb moment. It's a way to acknowledge the daily absurdity of living with a chronic illness, and honestly, seeing how many squares I could check off was both validating and a little disheartening. But mostly, it made me feel seen! It’s not just about the big, dramatic symptoms like fainting or intense vertigo, but also the constant battle with things like temperature regulation – one minute I’m freezing, the next I’m sweating profusely. My bingo card definitely had dizziness and lightheadedness as free spaces, practically. But I also frequently check off fatigue, a kind of exhaustion that sleep doesn't touch. Then there's the delightful duo of nausea and GI problems, which can make even thinking about food a challenge. And who could forget the infamous brain fog? Trying to concentrate or remember simple things often feels like wading through thick mud. I've had countless moments of forgetfulness and struggling with concentration, leading to some truly embarrassing situations! Beyond the physical, there's the constant companion of anxiety. It's tough not to feel anxious when your body seems to have a mind of its own, with irregular heartbeat and sudden palpitations often coming out of nowhere. I've learned to recognize the subtle signs of my blood pressure dropping or my heart rate climbing, and it's a constant monitoring game. One thing the bingo card really highlights is the sheer variety of symptoms. From sudden migraines and headaches due to noise/light sensitivity to unexpected tremors and mood swings, it feels like my body is playing a cruel prank on me daily. Even simple tasks can become monumental challenges due to shortness of breath or unexplained chest pain and exercise intolerance. I used to love hiking, and now even a short walk can leave me feeling completely depleted. To anyone else playing their own version of POTS Bingo, remember you're not alone in ticking off those squares. I've found a few things that help me manage, like meticulously tracking my fluid and electrolyte intake (those salt cravings are real!). Finding comfortable compression socks has been a game-changer for my circulation, and learning to truly rest without guilt is an ongoing practice. Connecting with others who understand the "nervous system forgets how to nervous system" feeling has been incredibly therapeutic. We share tips, laugh at the absurdity, and remind each other that even on the hardest days, we're still here, finding ways to cope and thrive. Keep going, and know your experience is valid.
