A different Christmas

This Christmas was so different and fun in so many ways, it was our first Christmas in our very first home as a family living full time in the US, with that lots of thoughts:

💙feeling very thankful and blessed for all the beautiful presents, memories and decorations

💙 thankful for starting over in a new place

💙 thankful for my new family of 3

💙thankful for this new life

🙁homesickness is real

🙁missing Mexico a little extra today

🙁missing family traditions the most on this holidays

Merry Christmas everyone 🎄🎅🏼

Many families experience homesickness during the holidays, particularly when they miss loved ones and cherished traditions from their homeland. Embracing the new can be a beautiful journey while also honoring what has been left behind. Creating new family traditions can help in making the holiday season feel special. From decorating the Christmas tree to preparing unique recipes, these moments can foster a sense of belonging. Sharing experiences and reflections with others who are navigating similar journeys can alleviate feelings of isolation and promote community connection. Additionally, the spirit of gratitude during Christmas can enhance the overall celebration. Focusing on thankfulness for new beginnings, health, and family allows us to find joy despite any hardships. Incorporating activities such as volunteer work or connecting with neighbors may also bring a greater sense of fulfillment and joy to this festive season. Overall, it's about blending the past with the present, creating cherished memories in your evolving life.
