A lot of Princess Di’s style in the 90s was chosen to perpetuate a polished, professional, capable persona once she split from the Royal family and delved into her humanitarian causes. She was setting herself apart from the fairytale princess persona that the media had thrust upon her during the 1980s and her marriage.
