My Skippable Rides at WDW

Warning! Controversial Disney Opinions Coming Up…

I say every park, but I skipped the water parks because they are in fact skippable themselves🤷🏼‍♀️

So I think we all know, it’s HARD to do every ride in a park on a single park day…so I’m sharing my skippable rides (and some are pretty controversial fair warning) and why I think they just aren’t necessary.

Now this is from the perspective of a childless Disney adult & ex-cast member. If you have kids, then some of these are probably higher priorities for you (rightfully so)

Magic Kingdom🏰

▪️Ariel’s Grotto-I’ve never not gotten stuck on this ibe. But I love all the history in the queue

▪️Voyage of the Little Mermaid: we’re ready for an update

▪️Flying Carpets/Dumbo (though I prefer dumbo): when I have kids this will change. Bit adult Disney me doesn’t have to do it.

▪️Barn Stormer. It’s adorable but it’s skippable

▪️Mine Train: it’s just not worth the queue time. I’ll happily ride it if there’s a 30 min or less wait but more than that is a no for me. Great for kids though.

▪️Laugh Floor: I’ve never actually done this one but I also don’t have any interest in changing that. There are other things in MK that I *have* to do and this just never makes the list for me.

EPCOT🪩

▪️Mission Space: Just no. The ONLY ride I flat out refuse to ride in any didn’t park. I don’t get motion sick but this one makes me motion sick. Haven’t ridden since I was 13 and never will.

▪️Frozen Ever After: Maelstrom forever! They removed an ICONIC beautifully themed & unique ride to replace it with poorly conceived IP with faulty animatronics (that are creepy when they’re not working) and only dresses half the sets. I have no issue with Frozen, but this ride is awful.

▪️Any of the Shows unless it’s really really hot because sweet sweet AC. I just wish they had seating.

▪️Journey Into Your Imagination (though I do love my man Figment) I truly would have loved to experience the original version. Though it douse make me laugh that Eric Idle allegedly doesn’t remember filming his scenes.

Animal Kingdom🌳

▪️It’s a Bugs Life: spiders. Big no. I prefer the queue to the show

▪️Navi Riger Journey-I have only ever ridden this ride where the shaman was working once. Long line, sort ride.

▪️Dinosaur (RIP, but also whatever they open in the future) okay so this is closed(closing?) but I have read that the new ride will the same system. So it will still be a no for me. It’s like being in a loud blender. No thank you.

▪️Triceratops Spin: same case as the carpets at MK…great for kids. Unnecessary for me

MGM (Hollywood Studios)🎥

▪️Cars Show: though the animatronic car is cool, the rest is definitely for the kids. As a childless adult it’s skippable for me

▪️Star Tours: Human blender. It’s gotten tougher and rougher over the years.

▪️Runaway Railroad-I’m not a huge trackless ride fan. If you’re really petite (like me) you do a fair bit of sliding around. And come off feel pretty banged up. I am also not a fan of the new animation style. Plus it’s no where near as good a TGMR was (RIP)
