London Autumn Honeymoon Outfit Ideas
Boy have we pivoted…from summer in Italy to autumn in London & Paris
Because it is arguably more difficult to pack for cooler weather (because everything is bulky) I’m trying to creat a capsule wardrobe of sorts for this version of our 5x postponed honeymoon.
I am one of those girls who is always freezing so 50-60s is going to be chilly for me. I’m planning lots of layers to keep the chill at bay during long days of wandering beautiful British streets.

A London honeymoon is truly magical, offering a blend of history, culture, and romance around every corner. While getting your autumn outfits just right is crucial for comfort and style (especially in those 50-60s temperatures!), planning beyond your wardrobe can make your trip even more unforgettable. My partner and I always prioritize outfits that allow us to seamlessly transition from sightseeing to a cozy dinner, and I’ve learned a few tricks to make packing for cooler weather less daunting. When it comes to building your perfect London honeymoon wardrobe, think versatility. A classic trench coat is an absolute non-negotiable. It’s not just chic; it’s your best friend against unpredictable London drizzles and adds an instant touch of sophistication to any outfit. I found that mine was perfect for everything from a casual stroll through Hyde Park to an evening out in Covent Garden. For footwear, comfort is paramount, but that doesn't mean sacrificing style. Knee-high boots are excellent for autumn, pairing beautifully with dresses, skirts, or even tucked-in skinny jeans. They offer warmth and support for all the walking you'll do, whether you're exploring the British Museum or wandering along the South Bank. Just make sure to break them in before you go! I also packed a pair of stylish loafers for days when I wanted a slightly dressier but still comfortable option. Layers are your game-changer. Start with quality thermal base layers if you're sensitive to cold like I am. Over that, a versatile knit like a black turtleneck sweater is fantastic. It can be dressed up with a statement necklace for dinner or kept casual with jeans for a daytime adventure. Another piece I loved incorporating was a plaid mini skirt—paired with opaque tights and those knee-high boots, it felt perfectly autumnal and chic for exploring quaint neighborhoods. Don't shy away from mixing textures. I found that leather pants were surprisingly comfortable and added an edgy, stylish touch for evening events or a fancier dinner. They were also surprisingly warm! Remember to pack a few accessories like scarves, gloves, and a stylish hat. These not only add warmth but can completely transform an outfit, giving you more looks with fewer packed items. Beyond the clothes, think about the experiences. A romantic evening river cruise on the Thames, a West End show, or a cozy pub dinner by a fireplace are all quintessential London honeymoon moments. Having outfits that can adapt from a brisk daytime walk past Buckingham Palace to a warm, inviting pub for a pint makes planning so much easier. My advice? Pack clothes you genuinely love and feel good in, because confidence is the best accessory on any honeymoon. And don't forget a small, secure crossbody bag for your essentials – it's perfect for keeping your hands free for holding hands or snapping photos!
