First time in our very own pool
And it was short lived because of was it cold 😅
Moving into a new home is always an exciting milestone, and having a private pool adds a whole new level of enjoyment to your space. I recently had my own first swim in our new pool, and while the thrill was incredible, I quickly realized that the cold water and unfamiliar heater controls could put a damper on the experience. It’s common when you move in during cooler months, like November, to find that pools aren’t quite ready for swimming without some adjustments. The heater may be tricky to operate at first, and the water can feel freezing until it reaches a comfortable temperature. One tip I found helpful was to familiarize myself with the pool’s heating system as soon as possible. Consult the manual or reach out to the previous owners or pool service provider for guidance on how to effectively operate the heater. Another suggestion is to plan your first swims closer to midday when the sun is strongest, which can naturally help warm the water. Wearing a wetsuit or swim shirt during early swims can make the cold more bearable while getting used to the pool environment. Gradually, as the heater kicks in and spring approaches, swimming becomes more pleasurable and long-lasting. This pool journey is also about manifestation and gratitude—realizing a dream of having a home with a patio and pool is special. Despite the initial chill, that first splash marks a new chapter filled with family time, relaxing moments, and outdoor fun. Whether your pool adventures start short-lived due to the cold or perfect right away, each time in the water is a celebration of your new home life.
