Hey Yall! Help?

Hey yall! Sorry I’ve been MIA. Life got busy and I’m not gonna lie, I kinda forgot all about this app. 😅 but I’m back and I’m gonna try to stay back! I plan on posting again and hopefully more consistently.

Here’s what this post is about: I’m needing hair help.. again!💇🏻‍♀️ I’m probably gonna make it a birthday tradition to get my hair done. That’s what I did last year for my birthday (see last slide). This year I want to do it again. I’ve been craving a change and we’re a month away from my birthday. This year I’m not gonna do a crazy change like last year. The red has just been a chore to keep up with. Lots of box dye at home 😅😅 This year I want to go back to more of my natural color. However I honestly don’t know what that is anymore. My hair always fades to a very dull, brown color in winter and almost coppery in summer. I’m trying to go back brunette but keep it dark and warm. I love the warm, red tones. Here are my ideas, let me know thoughts or any other ideas!! And if you could tell me exactly how to ask for the first 3 colors let me know! 😅

Plan on keeping the length. Trying to grow my hair back out, even though I still have urges to chop it again. Layers and curtain bangs again for sure!! However I’m terrible with hair terminology, so what type of layers should I get?? Something to keep movement and not so thick.

... Read moreTransitioning back to a natural hair color can be tricky, especially when you’ve been rocking vibrant reds like I have. One thing I’ve learned is that understanding your undertones makes a huge difference in choosing a warm brunette shade that complements your skin. If your hair fades to dull brown in winter and copper in summer, trying shades like warm honey, caramel, or chestnut could balance those tones beautifully without the upkeep of red. When it comes to layers, if your goal is to add movement but avoid bulkiness, ask your stylist for long, feathered layers or 'soft layers.' These help create a light, flowing look without sacrificing length. Curtain bangs are a fantastic choice too—they frame the face gently and blend well with layered hair. A tip for communicating with your stylist: bring pictures of the hair colors you like—such as the warm honey tone you mentioned—and describe how you want the color to look warm and rich but still natural. For layers, saying you want 'face-framing layers that add movement without heaviness' can help. Also, maintaining color with less frequent touch-ups is possible with such warm brunette shades because they tend to fade more naturally than bright reds. Using color-protecting shampoos and conditioners designed for warm tones can make upkeep easier. Lastly, making your birthday hair makeover a tradition sounds fun and empowering! It’s a great way to refresh your look and celebrate yourself. Remember, hair growth can be a journey with ups and downs—embrace the process, and don’t hesitate to mix things up a little if the urge to chop strikes again.
