✨KEEP PRAYING YOUR PRAYERS TO GOD✨
There are some prayers I am embarrassed to admit I still pray.
Not because they are bad prayers… but because I thought I would be “past this” by now.
Past the anxiety.
Past the overthinking.
Past replaying conversations in my head after they already ended.
Past needing reassurance from God about things I have supposedly already surrendered.
But lately I keep feeling this reminder:
God is not rolling His eyes at the places where I am still human.
He is not disappointed because I needed comfort again.
Because healing is not always a straight line.
Sometimes faith looks strong and steady.
Sometimes it looks like saying, “Lord… I know You were faithful before, but I need help trusting You again today.”
And that does not make you weak.
It makes you dependent.
There is a difference.
I think a lot of us quietly believe mature faith means never struggling anymore.
But mature faith is not pretending you do not feel fear.
It is knowing where to take your fear when you do.
So if you are frustrated with yourself because you thought you would be “further along” by now…
Take a breath.
God is not asking you to be beyond needing Him.
He is inviting you to keep bringing your honest heart to Him… again and again.
That is still faith too. 🤍

In my own experience, I have found that the process of praying honestly to God, especially when grappling with anxiety and overthinking, can be deeply transformative. Many times, I prayed the same prayers over and over again, feeling embarrassed as if I should have 'moved past' these struggles. But reflecting on passages like "Be still and know" reminds me that God welcomes us in all our humanity, without judgment. One important lesson I've learned is that faith isn't about perfection or never feeling fear. It's about knowing where to take those fears—acknowledging them and bringing them before God. This continual surrender and dependence, rather than a sign of weakness, actually deepens our relationship with God. Healing and spiritual growth don't follow a straight path. Sometimes progress feels sudden and sure, and other times it feels like taking two steps back to move one forward. Having patience with ourselves during this nonlinear healing journey, and understanding that God is patient as well, can bring immense comfort. Also, like the article's emphasis on mature faith, it’s freeing to accept that needing reassurance repeatedly isn’t failure. Instead, it's a sign of our ongoing vulnerability and trust. We can keep praying, keep asking for clarity, and keep seeking healing in Jesus' name without shame. This ongoing conversation with God has helped me manage moments of anxiety and overthinking by reminding me to simply ‘be still,’ to rest in His presence. Whether you find yourself replaying conversations in your head or needing comfort again today, you are not alone in that experience. God listens, and that is the heart of true faith.
