Get to know me 💕

Hello! I’m Bailey, I’m 28, and I’m trying to have another baby. I’m married to my wonderful husband of 5 years. Between us we have two 9 year old boys who we love to bits. We’ve been trying to have a baby together for just over 8 years now. We have just started with a new fertility specialist, and we’re feeling hopeful.

A look into our journey so far. After we had been together for just over a year with no successful pregnancy, I started talking to my doctor about my concerns. I had to bring up my concerns four separate times over the course of about 3 years before my doctor finally started to listen. I was young and already had a child, surly I was overthinking it. Finally, I got a referral to an OBGYN, and my husband was sent to a urologist. My husband was tested, and they found nothing wrong. Then testing for me started. I was put on meds for my thyroid-which was doing fine, they just wanted my numbers down slightly-I had an HSG to test my tubes, and I was put on meds to regulate/start ovulation. This was all over the course of a year, and none of it changed anything. Then I was referred to my first fertility doctor. They again ran tests. They agreed that I should stay on the meds for my thyroid, and also added in metformin to help with my egg quality. We did 3 rounds of IUI, which all failed. They were heavily pushing for IVF, but we just can’t afford it, and they weren’t willing to let us do anymore rounds of IUI. So we decided to try a new fertility doctor. I had my initial appointment with them earlier this month, and I’m hopeful this will be it for us. I will hopefully seeing them soon to come up with a game plan, and we will talk about what comes next for us.

If you’re interested in coming along on our journey, feel free to follow! 💕

... Read moreFertility journeys can be complex and emotionally taxing. It’s important to understand that many couples face similar challenges when trying to conceive. Many embark on this process feeling hopeful but may encounter setbacks due to various factors, including health issues or financial constraints. In Bailey's case, after lengthy consultations and treatments, she faced multiple rounds of unsuccessful IUI, which is a common experience amongst those dealing with infertility. The desire for a family can lead to an emotional spectrum, making it crucial for individuals to seek support from professionals and connecting with communities facing similar circumstances. This supportive network provides an avenue to share personal experiences, advice, and coping strategies. As fertility treatments evolve and technology improves, staying informed about the latest advancements and your options, including potential lifestyle changes, can contribute to a positive outcome. For those considering joining Bailey on her journey, engaging with online forums or local support groups dedicated to infertility can offer both information and emotional support. Your voice matters, and sharing your story can help others feel less isolated in their struggle.
