The Origin of Èsù Yangí:
“The Lord of knives
The brave man that uses knives
Ajànlòlò, the lord of knives
Ajànlòlò, the thieves-catcher wizard
Ajànlòlò, come and arrest this theif for me
Ajanlolò is the husband of Ade
He fought Olúgn and subdued Olúgbón
He fought Ares and subdued Arèsà
He fought Oràngún llé llá
He subdued Oràngún ilé llá
It was only Ade's mother that subdued him.
He then entered the balad stone
He then became ashamed
He said, "I, Èsù Odàrà"
If a child invokes me here
I shall answer him
If an elderly person invokes me here
I shall answer him….”
