Spooky season is arriving which means this book needs to be on your TBR!
In immortal dark we follow Kidan, who believes that Susyenos has kidnapped her sister and has hid her somewhere at Uxlay University where humans and vampires become companions. Kidan infiltrates the academy to find her sister, only to realize the school has much darker secrets than she could have imagined.
This. Book. Was. GOOD. I know there are so many mixed reviews but I am here to tell you that I loved it. Does the FMC make dumb decisions? Yes.. but if someone took my sister and I feel like everyone is gaslighting me when I’m trying to find her I would be a loose canon too 😂.
The angst between Yos and Kidan OOUU. This was a TRUE enemies to lovers. I truly thought one of them would be unalived in their sleep lol. But the bond that grows between them is the right amount of slow burn and they really still dont even become lovers in book 1. There is spice but its written so poetically that you dont realize whats happening until you take a step back and then you’ll be like wait a minute.. is he?? Yeaa 😭
P.S. Please keep in mind that this is set to be a series so all questions won’t be answered in this book. Book 2 releases Nov 4 and im so ready 🥰
Okay, fellow bookworms, let's dive even deeper into why 'Immortal Dark' by Tigest Girma completely captivated me. If you're like me and constantly searching for that perfect dark academia vampire romance, this book absolutely delivers. The whole vibe of Uxlay University, where humans and vampires are supposedly 'companions,' immediately sets a deliciously eerie tone. Imagine grand, gothic mansion-like buildings shrouded in mist, secret societies, and ancient lore – it's the ultimate backdrop for Kidan's desperate search for her sister. The mood board for the book perfectly captures this aesthetic, especially with the mention of the book cover in a gold frame and those intriguing visuals of a mysterious man and dark rooms, embodying those classic vampire themes and dark academia themes. What truly hooked me was the dynamic between Kidan and Yos. Their enemies-to-lovers arc isn't just a trope; it's a slow-burning inferno! Kidan is fiercely determined, even if her methods sometimes make you want to yell at the page – but honestly, wouldn't you be a bit unhinged if your sister vanished and no one believed you? That raw, desperate energy makes her so relatable. And Yos... he's the quintessential mysterious, brooding figure you can't help but be drawn to. Their interactions are pure tension, the kind that makes your heart pound, leading to those 'poetically spiced' moments the original review hinted at. It's not just physical; it's the emotional connection that slowly builds amidst all the danger. Speaking of danger, the conspiracies within Uxlay are far more intricate than just a simple kidnapping. As Kidan digs deeper, the layers of secrets unravel, revealing a truly dark underbelly to this seemingly prestigious institution. This is where the dark academia elements truly shine, blending ancient texts, forbidden knowledge, and a sense of impending doom with the classic allure of vampire lore. The author, Tigest Girma, masterfully weaves these elements to keep you guessing, making it a compelling dark academia vampire book. For those wondering about 'Immortal Dark Book 1,' remember that this is just the beginning of a larger saga! Don't go in expecting all questions to be neatly tied up with a bow, especially regarding the romance. The beauty is in the journey, the slow unraveling of the mystery, and the gradual evolution of relationships. It sets up book two perfectly, leaving you desperate for more. The Immortal Dark book cover itself, with its rich, gothic feel, perfectly encapsulates the intrigue within. If you've devoured series like 'A Shadow in the Ember' or 'From Blood and Ash' but crave a darker, academic setting, then 'Immortal Dark' is your next obsession. It's more than just a vampire romance; it's a thrilling ride into a world where trust is a luxury and love might just be the most dangerous secret of all. Seriously, add this to your TBR, especially with spooky season approaching!

I'm still reading it but I'm sooo excited to get through it. It's definitely a great book so far!!!
