Welcome to our new series where we will take you through each day we spent in Costa Rica! Here is day 1 which includes our travel, checking into our amazing Airbnb, and hitting up a local market! #costarica #visitcostarica #travelgirls #traveltok #costaricatravel
Traveling with a large group, especially 10 friends celebrating a special occasion like a 30th birthday, requires thoughtful planning and coordination. Our arrival at Liberia Airport marked the start of an exciting journey, and the 1.5-hour ride to Tamarindo allowed us to settle in mentally for the trip ahead. Staying in an Airbnb with ample space for everyone to spread out, including a full kitchen and a phenomenal pool, made it feel like a home away from home. Such accommodations are perfect for groups seeking both comfort and social areas. Having a private chef one night was a game-changer and truly enhanced our experience by allowing us to enjoy authentic cuisine in a relaxed setting. Don’t underestimate the value of good food—it can be the highlight of your trip! One of the highlights was visiting the Tamarindo Moonlight Market, held every Thursday evening. The atmosphere was lively, blending local food stalls, bars, DJs, and unique local merchandise. It’s an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in Costa Rican culture and embrace the 'pura vida' lifestyle, which embodies a relaxed and positive approach to life. The local passion fruit drinks and tacos we tried were delicious and gave us a real taste of Costa Rica. For anyone planning a trip to Tamarindo, I highly recommend timing your visit to coincide with the Moonlight Market. It’s a mess-free, fun way to kickstart your evenings and experience local flavors and music. Also, preparing goody bags for travel companions added a personal and memorable touch to our group trip, making everyone feel appreciated. In summary, day 1 encapsulated the essence of what makes Costa Rica special: natural beauty, welcoming local culture, delicious food, and moments shared with friends. Whether you’re traveling solo or with a big group, these experiences can help create lasting memories and give you a true sense of the serene yet vibrant life in Costa Rica.
