... Read moreIn recent years, discussions about antifa and antifascism have increasingly entered public discourse, often generating confusion and strong opinions. The term "antifa" refers to anti-fascist movements that actively oppose fascist ideologies and groups. Antifascism itself is a political stance that rejects authoritarian, oppressive, and nationalist ideologies associated with fascism. Critics of antifa sometimes label the movement as extremist or even as a terrorist organization. However, supporters argue that antifa's goal is to resist and prevent the rise of fascism, which they view as a significant threat to democratic values and human rights. The phrase "Fascist cannot be unless fascism is" suggests a paradox in opposing fascism: fighting fascists may inadvertently empower extreme views if not approached carefully. Understanding these dynamics helps unpack why some consider engaging with fascist ideas as potentially legitimizing them, which raises ethical and strategic questions about how to oppose hate and violence effectively. It is important to critically assess sources and perspectives on this topic, as misinformation can fuel polarization. Overall, antifascism represents a broad coalition of activists and groups committed to challenging hate and authoritarianism in various forms. The complexities of this discussion reflect broader societal struggles over freedom, security, and justice. Engaging thoughtfully with these issues encourages informed debates rooted in facts, rather than inflammatory rhetoric.

You are just misinformed. Antifa is real. They can call us fascists but yet they abuse people and have destroyed Portland if they don't think like they do. They are fascists.
