After countless evenings spent scouting the horizon, I've narrowed down a few go-to spots that consistently deliver those postcard-perfect views. These aren't just any beaches; they offer unique vantage points and atmospheres that make each sunset truly special. First up on my list is Robert Moses State Park, particularly Field 2 or Field 5. Located on the western end of Fire Island, this spot offers unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean. What makes it spectacular for sunsets is its westward orientation, allowing you to watch the sun dip directly below the horizon, painting the sky in fiery oranges, purples, and pinks. The wide, expansive beach gives you plenty of space to set up your blanket or beach chairs, and the distant silhouette of the Robert Moses Lighthouse adds an iconic touch to your photos.
