RDLs are still are but we’re making progress lol! Thank you so much if you left tips on my last video. I still need to try them out on the smith machine and against a bench. I’m determined to get these down 🙂‍↕️

... Read moreHey everyone! I’m so excited to share more of my RDL journey and dive deeper into this incredible exercise. When I first started, I often wondered, 'What is this exercise called, and why is everyone doing it?' Well, the "Romanian Deadlift," or RDL, has become a staple in my routine for a reason, and if you’re looking to master your form and understand its benefits, you’re in the right place! Let’s talk about the benefits first. Beyond just building a sculpted physique, RDLs are fantastic for strengthening your entire posterior chain – that's your glutes, hamstrings, and lower back. This translates to better athletic performance, improved posture, and even injury prevention. For me, the biggest payoff has been the incredible glute activation. When done right, you’ll really feel those muscles working to give you those 'curvy toned body goals' many of us aspire to! Now, onto the trickiest part: *RDL form*. It took me a while, but with some amazing tips I've gathered (and am still trying out!), it's getting easier. Here’s what’s really helped me: First, your stance and footwear. I've heard 'try wearing flatter shoes!' and even 'try them barefoot to work on form and press down through your heels.' This really helps you feel grounded. Start with your feet hip-width apart, holding your weights with an overhand grip, arms straight and shoulders slack. The key is the *hip hinge*. Instead of thinking about bending over, think about pushing your hips back as if you’re trying to 'close a door with your booty' or 'push a door closed with my butt.' This cue has been a game-changer for me! Maintain a 'teenyyy bit more bend at your knees' – it’s not a squat, but a slight, constant bend. Keep your chest up and back flat throughout the movement. Lower the weight by hinging at your hips until you feel a good stretch in your hamstrings, usually 'down to about mid calf.' You shouldn't feel any strain in your lower back; if you do, you're likely rounding your back or squatting too much. Focus on driving through your heels as you come back up, squeezing your glutes at the top. Remember, it's about control, not how heavy you can lift. I'm still working on trying them out on the smith machine and against a bench to really refine that movement pattern. You got this, mamas! Common pitfalls I've learned to avoid include rounding my back – always keep that spine neutral! Another one is squatting too much instead of hinging. It’s a subtle difference, but crucial for targeting the right muscles. If you're new to RDLs, start with lighter weights or even just a broomstick to perfect the movement pattern. Once you feel confident, you can gradually increase the load. Remember, consistency and proper form are your best friends for seeing real 'glutegrowingtips' come to life with RDLs. Keep practicing, and you'll definitely get these down!

Know The RDL Difference 💪🏾
RDL for Glutes: • Slightly more knee bend (around 15–20°) • Drive hips back while maintaining glute tension • Think “sit into your hips” instead of “pull with hamstrings” RDL for Hamstrings: • Keep knees soft but nearly straight • Hinge deeply at the hips to lengthen the hamstrings •
