I find that having a place to dump all these scattered notes is essential to managing my day-to-day tasks and mental clutter. For instance, my notes range from random reminders like ‘China garden Irving ave JJ carry out’ to more detailed lists of potential tattoo ideas with prices or even questions about clothing styles for resale. It's common for people with ADHD to struggle with decision fatigue and keeping track of various responsibilities simultaneously. Writing down everything helps externalize my thoughts, making it easier to prioritize. But equally important is accepting that I won’t remember every detail, and that’s okay. Deleting notes feels like losing parts of my thought process, so I tend to keep them all for reference. Another helpful approach I've discovered is categorizing notes when possible, such as separating food orders, personal appointments, and shopping items. This adds structure to otherwise chaotic mental notes. Also, adding timestamps or dates, like 'October 21, 2025 at 11:54AM', helps schedule and prioritize events or items to revisit. Accepting the uniqueness of my ADHD brain has made coping with these scattered thoughts more manageable. Sharing these notes with others who experience similar challenges creates a sense of community and reduces the stigma around neurodivergence. It’s empowering to see that having many notes—some seemingly nonsensical—is part of how many of us navigate our lives and stay organized in our own ways.
