College decisions are coming up! Many have already decided. I’m in my freshman year of college currently and I know there’s a lot of things I wish I knew before school.
Starting college can be an exhilarating yet daunting experience for first-year students. As you prepare for this significant transition, it's crucial to equip yourself with the best college advice to make the most of your freshman year. One important piece of advice is to engage socially—join clubs or organizations aligned with your interests to meet new friends and network. Time management is another key skill to master; balancing coursework, social life, and perhaps a part-time job can be challenging. Use tools like planners and apps to help stay organized. Don't hesitate to seek academic resources offered on campus, such as tutoring centers or study groups, which can greatly help your understanding of course material and improve your grades. Additionally, learning to communicate with professors and utilizing their office hours can enrich your academic experience. It’s also essential to take care of your mental health. Make time for self-care amidst your busy schedule to reduce stress and maintain focus. Lastly, make sure you are aware of campus policies and resources related to housing and academics, like dorm checklists and dorm decor, which can facilitate a smooth settling-in period. Embrace the adventure, learn from your experiences, and remember, everyone else is in the same boat—a little support and camaraderie can go a long way!

definitely go socialize because after this period many people begin to get cliquey and won’t want to make more friends. find something you can do to meet people. introduce yourself to your classmates in class. make sure you are aware of the path you wanna take because changing majors can be hard sometimes!
