No freaking power for damn near 14days???!!!

Sooo we had a really bad storm hit here in Houston a few days ago. THIS WILL BE DAY 3 no power. It’s a mfn mess cause every place has no power and the only one that does is Walmart. We had to sleep in our vehicle cause it was too damn hot to sleep inside… Now they are saying it’s going to get hot and the air quality will be sh*t! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ Then people are getting put out of their hotels with their kids regardless of the natural disaster that has happened. Everybody was out grilling the last of their food yesterday. No gas stations have back up generators nor do the hotels. Having to charge our phones in our vehicles with weak a$$ service that goes in and out, street lights won’t even work to direct traffic. Oh yeh, did I mention we are low on gas and electricity is down all the way to Katy Tx.. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ what a week.. #disaster #Lemon8 #fyp #Lemon8Diary #HOUSTON

Such situations often lead to challenges like finding shelter, staying safe, and ensuring basic needs are met. During emergencies, many local organizations and community members come together to support those affected. Neighbors might share food, provide transportation for those without vehicles, and assist families who need to evacuate. It’s essential to keep abreast of safety guidelines and community announcements through local news and social media. Social media platforms can be invaluable in such situations, providing real-time updates on the status of power restoration, available shelters, and community resources. Citizens are encouraged to prepare for potential future outages by creating emergency kits, which may include flashlights, batteries, non-perishable food, and water. Additionally, knowing where to find backup power sources, such as generators or designated charging stations, can be helpful. As the community recovers, it is crucial for residents to feedback on the crisis management response and advocate for enhanced infrastructure to prevent future power outages from causing similar hardships.
