HOW TO STYLE A FALL MANTLE
BAER DESIGN STUDIO - Mantle Makeover
This was the first time that I used a pool noodle to attach the foliage to my mantle. Normally, I decorate my mantle top first and add the foliage at the end. This year, I’m starting with my foliage first, and then I will continue decorating the rest of my mantle next week.
This was unbelievably easy! I just used a serrated knife to cut a slit in the noodle and then just opened up the noodle and it clamped right onto the mantle.
Next, I just took the stems of the dried foliage and stuck them right into the noodle. All the other items, I hot glued down directly onto the noodle.
I used Sola wood flowers I had left over from another project. Lastly, I just tore apart an old fall garland and hot glued the leaves directly onto the noodle. I really didn’t want to spend a lot on my mantle so I just used items I had in my fall storage bins. I just spent $1.25 on the pool noodle.
My goal is to just slide the whole arrangement off at the end of the season and store it as a long tube. Then I will slide it back onto the mantle next year.

Styling a fall mantle can transform your living space and infuse it with seasonal warmth. Start by selecting a cohesive color palette that reflects autumn shades such as oranges, browns, and neutrals. Using a pool noodle, you can easily attach foliage and create an arrangement that can be stored away after the season. Incorporate elements like wood flowers and dried leaves to add texture. Consider using gourds or small pumpkins for added flair. A well-styled mantle acts as a focal point in your home, making gatherings more inviting. Don't forget to layer different heights of decor to create visual interest. Lastly, ensure that your arrangement is well-balanced and not overcrowded, allowing each piece to shine. Embrace your creativity and enjoy the decorating process this fall!
