1. The Children's Crusade
In 1212, tens of thousands of children set out for Jerusalem in faith, but ended in one of the worst tragedies, when most of the children were tricked into selling into slavery or died en route without anyone returning home.

2. The birth of the Lidice Massacre.
After the massacre by the Nazi army in 1942, the International Federation of Democratic Women proclaimed 1 June as International Children's Day, to remember children who had been victims of atrocities in war.

3. Soweto Uprising protest
On June 16, 1976, thousands of students in South Africa marched to protest racist laws in educational establishments. The violent crackdown on that day put the world on alert and became the source of today's "Africa Children's Day."

4. Rose Day First Beginning
The world's first official Children's Day was started in 1857 by Pastor Charles Leonard In Massachusetts, he held a special ceremony for children in church, which later became a model for many countries to start focusing on children.

5. Little Rock Nine Group with Standing for Rights
In 1957, 9 black children had to walk through frantic crowds and militias to attend white schools. The struggle of the little warriors that day became a major turning point of human rights in education around the world.
