เมื่อได้อ่านบทความนี้แล้ว ผมรู้สึกทึ่งกับความหลากหลายและปริศนาที่ธรรมชาติสร้างขึ้นในแต่ละสถานที่จริงๆ จะขอแชร์ประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวที่เคยได้ฟังหรืออ่านมาเกี่ยวกับสถานที่บางแห่งที่กล่าวถึงในบทความ เกาะโซโคตรา ในเยเมน เป็นเกาะที่ดูเหมือนหลุดมาจากโลกอีกใบ ต้นเลือดมังกรที่มีลักษณะเหมือนจานบินนั้น นอกจากจะมีรูปร่างแปลกแล้ว ยังมีคุณสมบัติทางสมุนไพรที่น่าสนใจ คนท้องถิ่นใช้ยางสีแดงจากต้นนี้รักษาแผลและโรคอื่นๆ ซึ่งเป็นหลักฐานว่าธรรมชาติมีความฉลาดในตัวเอง ส่วนประตูสู่นรกเดอร์วาเซในตูร์กเมนิสถาน นับเป็นเรื่องที่ชวนขนลุกและน่าหวาดเสียว ผมเคยอ่านเจอว่านักวิทยาศาสตร์ตั้งใจจุดไฟเผาหลุมแก๊สนี้เพื่อลดอันตรายจากแก๊สพิษที่ซึมออกมา แต่ไฟกลับลุกไหม้มานานนับ 50 ปีจนกลายเป็นสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวลึกลับ แอ่งดานากิลในเอธิโอเปีย เป็นพื้นที่หนึ่งที่นักวิทยาศาสตร์สนใจศึกษามาก เพราะสภาพแวดล้อมเหมือนดาวอังคารจริงๆ นอกจากสีสันนีออนที่เกิดจากแร่กำมะถันและการระเบิดของภูเขาไฟแล้ว ยังเป็นแหล่งร้อนแรงที่มนุษย์ปรับตัวได้อย่างน่าทึ่ง อีกสถานที่ที่ผมเคยได้ชมภาพและคลิปวิดีโอแล้วอยากไปคือ ถ้ำหนอนเรืองแสงไวโตโมในนิวซีแลนด์ ที่เพดานถ้ำถูกแต่งแต้มด้วยแสงสีฟ้าจากหนอนเรืองแสงเป็นพันๆ ตัว ทำให้เรารู้สึกเหมือนอยู่ในอวกาศท่ามกลางดวงดาวจริงๆ เป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวที่บอกเล่าเรื่องราวของธรรมชาติและสิ่งมีชีวิตในรูปแบบที่น่าหลงใหล ถ้าพูดถึงทะเลสาบเกลือซาลาร์ เดอ อูยูนีในโบลิเวีย ก็คงไม่มีใครไม่คุ้นเคยกับภาพสะท้อนท้องฟ้าสวยงามที่ดูเหมือนกระจกยักษ์ ในช่วงฤดูฝนที่มีน้ำบางๆ ปกคลุมบนเกลือ เป็นภาพที่ช่างภาพหลายคนทั่วโลกใฝ่ฝันที่จะไปถ่ายภาพ สุดท้ายนี้ โลกของเราไม่ได้มีแค่สถานที่ทั่วๆ ไป แต่ยังเต็มไปด้วยสถานที่ที่แปลกใหม่ สวยงาม และชวนค้นหาอยู่เสมอ ความรู้สึกที่ได้เห็นหรือได้สัมผัสสถานที่เหล่านี้ นอกจากจะช่วยเปิดมุมมองด้านธรรมชาติแล้ว ยังเป็นการปลุกแรงบันดาลใจให้เรารักษ์โลกและใส่ใจความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพเพิ่มขึ้นอีกด้วย ผมอยากชวนทุกคนลองศึกษาข้อมูลและวางแผนเดินทางไปสัมผัสสถานที่เหล่านี้ด้วยตัวเอง รับรองว่าจะประทับใจไม่รู้ลืมแน่นอน
