Why I Quit Modeling

📸 or rather, why modeling quit ME

📸 Photographers are usually looking for a specific demographic, after I had my baby I didn’t fit the look… literally

📸 The requests became less and less interesting and I prefer creative shoots

📸 I work live now! I work in live events doing different gigs

📸 I prefer to work as an independent contractor doing fun projects I choose instead of having a manager choose for me

... Read moreIt feels so good to finally share my story about stepping away from the modeling world. While the main article covers why I made that big leap, I wanted to dive a little deeper into what life looks like now and how I'm embracing this new chapter as 'tinaplaysdisc'. Transitioning from traditional modeling wasn't just about the shift in demographics after having my little one, or even the lack of interesting requests. It was truly about finding my authentic voice and passion. As you might see from my photos – like the one where I'm rocking a white crop top and denim shorts against that cool wooden fence, or the more artistic shot of me suspended by red strings, almost like a living marionette – I've always loved creative expression. That's where my heart truly lies. Now, my world revolves around live events, which is such a thrilling change of pace! One day I might be doing stage management, the next I'm helping coordinate a festival, or even getting involved in performance art. It's incredibly diverse and keeps me on my toes. I get to choose projects that resonate with me, which is a huge shift from waiting for agencies to decide my next move. This independent contractor life means I'm my own boss, setting my own schedule, and pursuing gigs that genuinely excite me. For those of you who've followed my journey, you know I've always had a love for unique aesthetics, including my tattoos. These aren't just ink; they're part of my story and my artistic identity. In my earlier modeling days, sometimes they were covered up or airbrushed out, but now, they're celebrated in the creative shoots I choose to do. Whether it's a styled portrait lying on a wooden floor or a dynamic cosplay shot, my personal style is finally front and center. Speaking of cosplay, that's another area where 'tinaplaysdisc' truly comes alive! Remember that outfit with the black bird patterns, or hanging upside down from a bridge railing? Those are moments where art and imagination merge. It's not about fitting a commercial mold anymore; it's about bringing characters and concepts to life. This freedom to explore different personas, to create and collaborate on projects, is something I wouldn't trade for anything. If you're feeling stuck in your own career or craving a creative outlet, my biggest advice is to truly listen to yourself. What sparks joy? What kind of work makes you feel alive? It took courage to step away from a familiar path, but the reward of living authentically and working on projects I genuinely love has been immeasurable. It's a journey of self-discovery, and I'm so excited to see where 'tinaplaysdisc' goes next!

If I could have guaranteed I could look like u after having a baby, I would have taken the chance. I used to have a figure like urs. My age, Osteoarthritis, Depression and lack of activity put weight on me, which I am slowly dropping. Started at 232# in 5/22 now 185#. I'm glad u have found a place in the modeling career. I hate it when people r so critical.

Why I quit modeling and acting
#storytime #lemon8contest So I’ve always wanted to become a model but I didn’t think I could work for any big named companies if I worked with an agency in St. Louis. But I tried it out anyways and I got accepted immediately because I had all the right measurements and I had a good catwalk.

Huge reason why you shouldn’t quit
One thing i really learned over the past few months is just how supportive the art community is! Everyone is so kind, sweet and supportive! Sometimes life and “art business” is just so overwhelming, so breaking things down into little quick wins really helps me maintain balance. Best wishes!! 🫶
