What I’ve Been Up to Since My Last Post

Well, there’s only 3 days left in the year and I haven’t been here since july and I’m going to be 100% honest with what I’ve been up to. The good, the bad, and the ugly.

• I worked the rest of my summer away and didn’t leave any time for fun or to just relax. I literally wore myself out in every way possible

• I went to 1 concert before going back to school (highly recommend seeing Pitbull and/or T-Pain in concert)

• I started classes for my master’s degree

• I cried a lot, like a LOT but kept pushing through

• Working almost all day everyday when I don’t have classes

• I turned 22

• Cried a lot in my car, especially when driving back to school after visiting family (a stranger asked me if I was okay at a traffic light one time)

• Finished my 1st semester as a grad student with a 3.75 GPA (thought it’d be lower because 1 class was doctorate level)

• Worked some more and still am, same with crying

• Read 6 books from thanksgiving to now (12/29)

• Saying I got extremely excited over getting stuff to clean my car for Christmas would be an understatement

• I watch my stepmom slowly lose someone very close to her on Christmas Day

• Had a lot of realizations in the last couple of weeks that changed my perspective on a lot of things, especially where I am in life compared to where I want to be

• Signed up for a gym membership and have a schedule all planned out for when I’ll go

• Realized I’m okay going into the new year alone and not going out for it. 2025 will be the year I focus on me and what I want not others and what they want

• Decided that I won’t cry over silly things that hit me randomly and that I’ll just dance them out instead (even started making a playlist for it)

• Saving my money for trips I want to take and things I want to do, whether it’s solo or with others

Andddd that’s it! I think? I’m going to try to be more active here at least once a month until I really get things going

... Read moreAs the year draws to a close, it's a great time for self-reflection and setting intentions for the upcoming year. Transition periods, like starting graduate school or major life events, often prompt deep introspection and growth. Many people find themselves overwhelmed yet exhilarated by new challenges and responsibilities, making it essential to prioritize self-care and mental well-being. Just as I navigated emotional hurdles through crying and self-discovery, many can relate to the struggle of balancing personal aspirations with everyday demands. Embracing vulnerability can be a powerful step toward understanding oneself better. The concept of resolutions is often at the forefront at this time of year. Whether it's committing to a gym routine, focusing on personal achievements, or simply setting aside time for leisure activities, resolutions can provide direction and motivation. In addition, connecting with communities online, like through social media platforms, can enhance accountability and offer support. Sharing our experiences and insights not only enriches our own journeys but also helps those with similar paths to feel less alone. Anticipating the new year brings hope. Focusing on the year ahead, like embracing a mantra for 2025, showcases a desire for personal growth. Taking time to evaluate experiences and adjust priorities can create a clearer path toward fulfilling our goals. Laying out actionable steps — like creating financial plans for traveling or curating playlists for motivation — can empower you to take charge of your life. Remember, each small step counts, and honoring your feelings through every up and down can lead to profound growth.
