From personal experience, using a heavy-duty gripper primer with thick high-hide properties can make a significant difference in achieving smooth and durable coverage. This kind of primer often functions as both a sealant and a stain blocker, effectively covering medium to heavy stains and preparing the surface for paint application. In my project, applying two full coats of this gripper primer helped in creating an excellent base coat that required minimal paint afterward, saving time and effort. It also provided exceptional adhesion to various surfaces like wood, drywall, plaster, and even painted metal or vinyl, which are common in camper interiors and exteriors. Another great benefit is that many of these primers come with a mildew-resistant finish and have very low VOC levels, making them safer to use indoors and during long projects. If you're working on camper renovations or similar projects, I highly recommend investing in a quality primer with these features to improve the longevity and appearance of your renovation work. Don’t forget to let each coat dry thoroughly before painting to ensure the best results and durability.
