📌 Kyushu 15 Days | Day 4: From Beppu to Kuma Mong Bear City & Legendary Architecture 🇯🇵✨
On our fourth trip to Kyushu, today we depart from Beppu, take the Sonic express train heading for Kumamoto, a city with a lot of wow!

When I got on the train, I found a giant Kuma-Mong head. This bear is not just a mascot! It was created in 2010 during the launch of the Kyushu Shinkansen train, and also has the rank of "Happiness Director" and "Sales Manager" of Kumamoto Prefecture. 🎩💼
🏯 invaded Kumamoto Castle.
You can't miss one of the three most beautiful castles in Japan! Completed in 1607 by Kato Kiyomasa, the black castle looks formidable and has a stone wall, Musha-gaeshi, with a very steep curve to prevent enemy invasion.
💥 Earthquake event & resurgence
During the 2016 Great Earthquake, the castle was heavily damaged. The restoration of the entire project is expected to take 20 years (100% completed around 2037), but the main tower (Tenshukaku) has been completed and is open for traffic since 2021, with high-tech vibration supplements!

• Antique Photo Gallery: Past photos that became important "blueprints" for teams of architects and engineers to track the restoration of the castle
