📌 Kyushu 15 Days | Day 7 (Part 1): Nature Drive Trip, Dabble in Valleys and Volcanic Districts 🇯🇵

Begin the 7th day journey by changing the travel model to a tourist driving rental (Road Trip) using the services of SKY RENT A CAR heading to explore natural wonders on the route between Miyazaki and Kumamoto prefectures.

🚗 to Takachiho, Miyazaki Prefecture

Departing from the city, heading for Takachiho, on both sides of the road surrounded by peaceful countryside views interspersed with magnificent mountains.

🏞️ Takachiho Gorge

A legendary natural check-in point, the valley is formed by the lava of the erupting volcano (Mt. Aso) and collided with the Gokase River hundreds of thousands of years ago. When the lava cooled rapidly plus prolonged water erosion, it formed the unique Columnar Jointing Valley.

• Activities and trips: Park at the point of service, and continue the regular bus entrance to the area, then walk along the nature trail along the cliffs and watercourses.

🌋 Aso-Kuju National Park

Travel into the Aso Volcanic Zone (Mt. Aso), a great geological site surrounded by vast grasslands and lined mountain ranges.

• Surrounding atmosphere: The views on the volcano are remarkably diverse; both verdant grasslands, crater mouths and museums learn geological stories.

Inverted bowl volcano (Komezuka)

Visit and record a small volcano with a complete shape resembling an inverted bowl.

• Local legend: According to the story, the god of Mount Aso brought rice and placed it on the mountain, and the deep dent in the top of the mountain was caused by the god taking the rice and distributing it to the poor.
