Zephaniah 3:17

When reading my devotional book this morning, today’s reading was exactly what I needed to hear. The other day I was just commenting on another one’s post how I feel this sort of guilt that I am not this “perfect” woman, that I still sin, gossip, judge even though I recognize and worship the Lord in my life.. And so when I feel this guilt, I decided to work on myself to become a better person for our Lord. But, I’ve taken the wrong turn, and only made myself feel worse than before. It turns out I was working myself out in the wrong way. Gradually, the Lord will guide me into being a better person. Everyday I pray for that guidance, because I know who I want to be, one of the best children of God there can be! It won’t be easy, but one day I will accomplish complete modesty and clarity. With the Lord’s guidance and with patience, not only I can accomplish it but you can too!

... Read moreIn Zephaniah 3:17, we find a comfort that resonates deeply with many who grapple with feelings of inadequacy and guilt. This verse reminds us that God is not only present but actively supports and saves us as a mighty warrior. When we strive to be better versions of ourselves, it’s crucial to remember that our worth isn’t defined by perfection but by God’s unwavering love. In daily life, we often get trapped in a cycle of trying to earn love through actions. This leads to stress and the false belief that we must 'perform' to be worthy. The message delivered through devotional readings emphasizes that God desires our approach to Him to be joyful rather than burdensome. Understanding that we have His righteousness allows us to lay aside our guilt and embrace His peace. As we reflect on verses that talk about God's love and guidance, let us also acknowledge that growth takes time and patience. With each day, we invite the Lord into our journey, seeking not just to follow rules but to build a meaningful relationship with Him. This relationship fosters true transformation and helps us to see ourselves through the lens of divine love rather than human flaws. Embrace Zephaniah 3:17 as a reminder that you are cherished and guided, not measured solely by your actions.
