Impulse shopping trick 💯💸

Hi guys 🤍 for the longest time, I would impulse buy things thinking it would make me feel better in the moment, but it always left me feeling more stressed later. Learning how to pause, question my purchases, and actually understand where my money was going changed everything for me. I’m still learning, but I feel so much more in control now. If you’re trying to build a healthier relationship with money and stop impulse spending, just know you’re not alone… we’re figuring this out together 🤍

... Read moreFor many of us, impulse shopping feels like a quick fix—a way to lift our mood or reward ourselves instantly. But as I found, that temporary satisfaction often fades fast, leaving behind stress and regret. What truly transformed my spending habits was implementing a 24-hour pause before making any non-essential purchase. This simple delay gave me enough time to reconsider whether I really needed or wanted the item, and often, the urge passed entirely. I also replaced the habit of outright saying "no" with a practical "Want List." Whenever I saw something appealing—say, a $60 skincare product—I’d add it to my list instead of buying immediately. Surprisingly, after a few days, items on that list seemed less important, which reduced impulsive buys. Another critical change was asking myself better questions before spending. For example: Do I truly need this? Would I pay full price or just buy it on sale? Will I care about it next week? These questions helped me avoid purchases driven by temporary excitement. Finally, giving my money clear purposes revolutionized how I managed my finances. By allocating specific amounts for bills, savings, and discretionary spending each month, I could see exactly where my money would go, leaving less room for random, unplanned expenses. If you’re struggling with impulse purchases, try these steps. Start with a 24-hour pause, keep a want list, ask yourself meaningful questions, and assign your money purposefully. Throughout this journey, remember it’s about progress, not perfection, and building a healthier relationship with money is absolutely achievable.
