living proof GLOSS review!!
heyy 👋 chances are if you're seeing this, you probably saw the first post that sparked this in the first place! and if not, here's a recap: i found this living proof gloss at my local ulta, and there has been no proof of its existence online until very recently!! it's not even for sale yet online, but i've learned that it's already available in stores for a good amount of people!! sooo i got it! and decided to write my review here ðŸ¤
SO, introductions aside, let's get to it ✨
this is the Living Proof PhD High-Shine Gloss! from what i currently know (and i'll edit this as more information comes out), it's a deep conditioning treatment that's intended to leave the hair feeling shiny and smooth ✨ it's priced at $36, and as of right now is only available at ulta
directions involve shampooing, conditioning, and rinsing your hair as normal, then you remove any excess water and apply the gloss! it stays on for about 5 minutes, which afterwards you can rinse off and dry + style as normal!
i found it weird having to dry my hair off a bit while IN the shower, but the application process was easy enough. i also did a face mask while the gloss did its thing, so it was easy to keep myself occupied for those 5 minutes 🥴 besides that my routine was exactly as per usual
and the results? holy shit
immediately i noticed that my hair was a lot softer than usual, which is expected for a deep conditioning treatment. it also had a LOT more volume, which came as a surprise. for shine? it definitely has a lot more shine than usual! my hair was already in pretty decent condition before the gloss, and i think it even had a little bit of shine beforehand, but the gloss just made everything SMOOTH✨ i wish i was a better photographer, but i hope the photos i took give a good general idea!
i currently don't know how long this lasts, but if i were to guess, it'll be a few weeks before i should reapply again like most glosses
my mom and sister have bleached and colored hair, so i'm probably gonna ask them to try the gloss as well and see if it works out better for them, but i'm gonna guess that's a yes, but i'll keep y'all posted!
overall, i'll give it an 8/10! it works well and left my hair looking extra shiny and feeling GREAT, but idk if i can fully get past the price point 😠but if you have bleached or dyed hair, i think this'll be great for you to keep your hair moisturized and vibrant :)
