ranking haircare lines 🎀
hii 😁 i'm feeling chaotic today so i wanted to give my tea on some haircare lines i've personally tried on my clients!! this is definitely gonna be in separate parts so if you don't see any specific brands, don't you worry i'll get there 🤭 but for noww here's my extended rant!!
for reference, i'm mainly judging these brands over how good their results are, and how well they work with multiple hair types!
🤍 Redken: 7/10
ohhh boy... now here's the thing: ulta's salon basically REVOLVES around redken. and i gotta say, it's nice! i love their styling products, they smell INCREDIBLE, and they offer a good variety of everything hair! but, there's a part of me that feels like they have too much? i sound crazy, but hear me out: why the fuck do they have 5 lines for color-treated hair? and there's so little variation between those lines that it just makes me question why??? and they do this MULTIPLE times to a point that it becomes... limiting? it's great if you have a niche goal for your hair, redken's probably got it, but i gotta subtract points for the overproduction 🙄

this brand is kinda... underwhelming? but i like the variety they offer! they also have one of the best lines for fine hair (that being the Ghost line)!! but i've had usually normal-behaving hair turn rowdy and tangled with this line, so it's really hit-or-miss unfortunately 💔 i like that they're vegan though!! also i find it goofy that they claim to be "affordable" when the base price for products are $20... like 😀 huh??? she has potential but i gotta leave it at that, i beg for a verb redemption arc one day 🙏

ooohhh i love this line for my curly-haired clients ❤️ SUPER moisturizing, the styling products have incredible shine and hold, and i love the natural ingredients (BUT it's not sulfate-free for my girlies with dyed hair!!). my main critique is that you can't use too much of it, because it ends up weighing down the hair, or making it look greasy due to the products being formulated with so many oils. besides the user error aspect of it, i think this brand is one of my favorites for curly hair, especially if you're looking for hold and shine!

for being jennifer aniston's haircare line, i had way too high of expectations 😔 gotta say, love the natural ingredients and it smells nice, but oh my god it's so DRYING. the only product i like out of this brand is the hair oil, it's one of the most lightweight oils i've ever tried and i think that's great for folks with oilier skin or fine hair! but besides that specific type of skin and hair, this brand has made other hair types so frizzy and dry, and it's SO disappointing 😭 also i've heard rumors of it growing mold??? JENNIFER I BELIEVED IN YOU 😭
🤍Kenra: 9/10
i gotta end this off with a good note, i absolutely love kenra. their hairsprays? ELITE. your hair won't be moving for HOURS. i also like their variety!! whether you need moisture, strength, or toning out brass, kenra has a lot of options for your goals 🤭 they have like too many hairspray options though, it's actually insane... they only don't have a perfect 10 because i haven't had the opportunity to try their curly hair products. if you have ANY experience with kenra's curly line, PLEASE lemme know because i'm more than willing to alter the score 🙏
