I totally get the struggle of that ever-growing Sephora wishlist! It's so hard to decide what's truly worth the splurge, especially when everything feels so expensive. I've been there, staring at a cart full of tempting foundation, those gorgeous highlighter palettes, and all the latest lip glosses, wondering if I should just hit 'checkout' or wait. Over the years, I've picked up a few tricks to help me make those tough decisions and save a little money. First, definitely make sure you're signed up for their Beauty Insider program. Those points really add up, and getting access to sales like the VIB Savings Event or Rouge discounts can be a game-changer. I always try to plan my bigger purchases around those times, especially if I'm eyeing a new hair mask or a luxurious hair oil. Another tip I swear by is checking out mini sizes or value sets. Sometimes you just want to try that new hair mask or a fancy hair oil without committing to the full-size price. Sephora often has fantastic sets that let you experiment with a few products, like a new skincare routine featuring a hydrating blue tube moisturizer or a protective pink sunscreen, for less. It's a great way to test out if that expensive topical cream is really for you before buying a big tube. And speaking of skincare, before you buy that expensive topical cream or that tempting pink lipstick, always read reviews! Not just on Sephora's site, but also on other beauty communities. It helps to see if a product, like a purple lip balm or a new stick product, truly lives up to its claims for different skin types or preferences. Sometimes, that must-have hair treatment you've been eyeing might have an amazing dupe you didn't even know about, or perhaps a different brand offers a similar foundation with better coverage for your skin type. Finally, I try to categorize my wishlist. Do I really need another foundation, or is it just a 'want'? Prioritizing helps me focus on essentials first, like a good hair treatment, and then I budget for the fun stuff like a new lip gloss or that stunning highlighter palette. It’s all about finding that balance so your Sephora haul feels like a treat, not a financial burden! Remember, it's okay to wait for a good sale or even find a more affordable alternative if a product isn't truly a 'must-have' for you.
