จากประสบการณ์ที่บ้านยุ่งเยอะมากและกัดหน้าทำให้รู้สึกได้ชัดเจนว่าบางจุดบนร่างกายคือเป้าหมายโปรดปรานของยุง โดยเฉพาะบริเวณหน้าผากและจมูกที่ไม่ได้ป้องกันได้ง่ายๆ วิธีที่ช่วยได้ผลดีคือการใช้ยากันยุงชนิดสเปรย์หรือครีมที่สามารถทาบริเวณใบหน้าได้โดยเฉพาะ และควรเลือกสูตรที่ไม่ระคายเคืองผิว นอกจากนี้ ผมพบว่าการติดมุ้งลวดหรือมุ้งกันยุงรอบหน้าต่างและประตูเป็นสิ่งจำเป็นมากบ้านที่มีลักษณะใกล้ชิดธรรมชาติแบบบ้านสองชั้นใต้ถุนต่ำ ใกล้ลำธารน้ำไหล เพราะจะช่วยลดจำนวนยุงที่เข้ามาภายในบ้าน สำหรับตอนกลางคืนการใช้พัดลมเป่าบริเวณหัวเตียงก็ช่วยลดการบินเข้ามาของยุงได้ไม่มากก็น้อย เนื่องจากยุงตัวเล็กและบินต่อสู้ลมแรงไม่ค่อยได้เหมือนคน หากโดนยุงกัดแล้ว ควรหลีกเลี่ยงการเกาหรือแคะ เพราะจะทำให้เกิดผื่น คัน หรือการติดเชื้อที่ผิวหนัง และสามารถใช้ยาครีมหรือโลชั่นแก้แพ้ทาเพื่อลดอาการคันและบวมได้ สุดท้ายอยากแนะนำให้ลองใช้วิธีธรรมชาติ เช่น การปลูกต้นตะไคร้หอม หรือใช้น้ำมันหอมระเหยจากตะไคร้ น้ำมันยูคาลิปตัส หรือมินต์ โดยหยดลงในกะละมังน้ำวางไว้ในห้อง เพราะกลิ่นเหล่านี้จะช่วยไล่ยุงได้ดี บ้านที่เต็มไปด้วยยุงในปริมาณมากเหมือนที่เล่าแทบจะต้องทำใจรับความลำบากใจ แต่ด้วยเทคนิคการป้องกันตามนี้ จะช่วยให้ลดจำนวนยุงกัดหน้าและทำให้ชีวิตประจำวันลดความเครียดจากการโดนยุงกัดลงได้มากขึ้นค่ะ
