Hey everyone! If you're looking for an amazing getaway just south of the border, you HAVE to check out Rosarito, Baja California. I just got back from an incredible trip there, and let me tell you, it's so much more than just a party town – though it definitely has a vibrant nightlife! I wanted to share my personal favorite things to do in Rosarito to help you plan your perfect Mexican adventure. First off, the beaches are absolutely stunning. I spent hours soaking up the sun and just relaxing by the ocean. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even go horseback riding right on the sand – it was such a unique experience! The waves are also great for surfing, so if you're into that, definitely bring your board or rent one. Don't miss a stroll down the Rosarito Pier, especially at sunset. The views are breathtaking, and it's a great spot for some photos. Now, let's talk about food because, let's be real, that's a huge part of any trip to Mexico! You absolutely cannot leave Rosarito without trying the street tacos. I found some incredible stands serving up authentic al pastor and carne asada. And for seafood lovers, this is your paradise. Fresh ceviche, fish tacos... chef's kiss! If you're willing to take a short drive, I highly recommend a visit to Puerto Nuevo, the 'Lobster Village'. It’s just south of Rosarito, and you can get an entire fried lobster meal for a fantastic price. It was truly one of the culinary highlights of my trip! For those looking for some fun after dark, Rosarito really comes alive. The area around Papas & Beer is legendary for its clubs and bars. Even if you're not into intense partying, it's fun to just walk around, grab a drink, and soak in the festive atmosphere. During the day, this area is also great for souvenir shopping – I picked up some really cool handmade crafts and traditional Mexican blankets. Beyond the main strip, I discovered a hidden gem: the Christ of the Sacred Heart statue (El Cristo). It's a bit of a drive up a hill, but the panoramic views of Rosarito and the Pacific Ocean from up there are absolutely spectacular. It’s a peaceful spot and a great way to see the lay of the land, giving you a better idea of the city's layout. Getting around Rosarito is pretty easy. Most of the main attractions are within walking distance or a short, inexpensive taxi ride. I felt very safe walking around during the day, and at night, I just made sure to stick to well-lit, populated areas, which is good practice anywhere you travel! Overall, Rosarito offers a fantastic mix of relaxation, adventure, delicious food, and lively entertainment. Whether you're looking for a quick weekend escape or a longer vacation, there are so many amazing things to do. I’m already dreaming of my next visit!
