Recently, I've been obsessed with bringing more greenery into my apartment, and while browsing for unique planters, a brilliant idea popped into my head: why not use a LEGO head as a vase? It sounds quirky, but trust me, it’s absolutely adorable and super simple to pull off! I mean, who doesn't have a spare LEGO head or two lying around, right? I found an old oversized LEGO minifigure head that was just collecting dust, and I thought, "This has potential!" The biggest challenge was making it watertight without damaging the LEGO. After a little trial and error, I found the perfect solution: a small glass votive or shot glass fits perfectly inside many of the larger LEGO heads. If you're using a standard minifigure head, you might need something even smaller, or you could try a small plastic bag liner. First, I made sure my LEGO head was clean and dry. Then, I carefully placed a small glass insert into the opening. This little glass container is key because it holds the water and protects the LEGO plastic. You don't want water directly in contact with the LEGO for long periods, as it could eventually degrade the plastic or, even worse, leak everywhere! Once the insert was snug, it was time for the fun part: picking the flowers. I opted for a small, cheerful bouquet of daisies and some delicate baby's breath. The bright colors really popped against the classic yellow LEGO head! For a different vibe, I’ve also tried using a single, striking bloom like a rose or a vibrant gerbera daisy. The great thing about these DIY LEGO head flower vases is how versatile they are. They're perfect for a desk, a bookshelf, a kids' room, or even as a quirky centerpiece for a casual gathering. You can swap out the flowers seasonally, keeping your display fresh and interesting. Beyond just fresh flowers, I've also experimented with artificial succulents or small air plants, which require even less maintenance. This is a fantastic option if you're not big on daily watering or if you want something that lasts indefinitely. I even saw someone use a LEGO head vase to hold tiny paintbrushes on their art desk – talk about multi-purpose! This project was so much fun and gave a second life to an item I already owned. It’s a fantastic way to add a bit of personality and whimsy to your home decor without breaking the bank.
