I published my first book! What am I doing now?

Now that the excitement and hard work of publishing my debut book is past I am working on book two of that series. I’ll be posting and writing a little more now that the dust has settled. I also started a new day job that takes up a lot of my time so I am anticipating making Tuesdays my writing days. I am so excited to begin this next project! I don’t have a clear timeline for this one I am hoping Christmas of 2026 but we will see!

Also!

New book (not sure if I’ll make it a series yet or not) is in the works too! Title yet to be revealed, but I can give you some hints

... Read morePublishing a first book is a huge milestone that many writers cherish deeply, and moving on to subsequent projects can feel both exhilarating and daunting. Balancing a new day job while dedicating specific days—like Tuesdays—to writing is a smart approach that helps maintain consistent progress without burning out. It's also interesting to hear about the development of a new book with intriguing themes such as forced proximity, enemies to lovers, and rival families set in historical Salem, MA. These elements are popular in contemporary romance and historical fiction genres, resonating well with readers who enjoy complex character dynamics and atmospheric settings. Writing a series offers a great opportunity to build a dedicated readership through character and plot development over multiple books, but starting a fresh standalone project can provide creative freedom to explore new narratives and styles. The author’s openness about the timeline—aiming for Christmas 2026 without pressure—demonstrates a healthy mindset toward the creative process, which many aspiring writers can find inspiring. For writers juggling day jobs, carving out designated writing times helps nurture discipline and momentum. Engaging with readers through posts and updates allows sharing the journey authentically, strengthening the community connection. Using themes like forced proximity and enemies-to-lovers taps into beloved tropes that create tension and emotional growth, making stories relatable and captivating. Overall, this update offers a genuine glimpse into balancing life and passion projects while teasing upcoming stories that promise rich settings and compelling relationships. Fans and new readers alike will appreciate the sneak peek into the next creative chapter. Keep following for more insights and progress as new stories take shape!
