Our Go Fund Me link is in our bio and I will be updating babies, pet care, information and health history. Please check it out when you can!🫶🏽💕
Our nighttime routine is now filled with pet care for Baby, which happens to look just like Bown’s 🥺
A big part of Baby’s pet night routine is making sure she’s comfortable and cared for before bed. Every evening, we do one of her twice-daily bandage changes, check her arm, clean the area, and make sure everything looks good before settling in for the night. Plus she also gets her medications and supplements.
It’s not exactly the cozy pet night routine I imagined years ago, but it’s become part of how we care for her and help keep her comfortable, and it’s our version of cozy! She also looks forward to all the treats she gets!🐾🦴
At 15 and a half years old, Baby is managing cancer, Addison’s disease, mitral valve disease, pulmonary hypertension, a heart murmur, and vestibular disease. Despite everything on that list, she’s still doing remarkably well and continues to enjoy her daily routines, meals, cuddles, and bedtime rituals.🥹
In many ways, we’re in a very similar situation to what we experienced with Bown. The biggest difference is that we’re currently able to keep Baby on her chemotherapy medication while continuing to manage her arm. We’re grateful for every day that she’s responding well and able to maintain her quality of life and so far she loves being here and being center of my entire universe! I love being her mommy!
A good night routine helps pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. For us, that means medications, bandage changes, monitoring her progress, plenty of affection, and making sure she’s ready to get a good night’s rest.
One thing I’ve learned through caring for senior dogs with complex medical conditions is that consistency matters. The little things — staying on schedule with treatments, paying attention to changes, and creating a calm bedtime routine — can make a big difference. My dogs love their nighttime music so I have to make sure I play that or they will not settle in!
Tonight’s routine may look a little different than most, but seeing Baby settle in comfortably at the end of the day is always worth it!❤️
I would like to thank all of you who have been with us through the journey with Bown through losing him, and now being here for Baby. it’s been very hard to get back to posting on this page as you could imagine there’s a pretty big void missing for me, but I’m really trying my best to honor the life and legacy that my sweet boy left behind and continuing to manage my sweet girl.
THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING HERE!!🫶🏽❤️

Caring for a senior dog with complex medical challenges is a journey that requires patience, attention, and a deep well of love. From my experience, establishing a consistent and gentle nighttime routine can transform the way our furry friends cope with their conditions. For pets like Baby, who battle illnesses such as cancer, Addison’s disease, and heart conditions, maintaining comfort is crucial. In addition to routine medical care like medication administration and bandage changes, creating familiar and calming environments makes a significant difference. For instance, playing soft music at bedtime can soothe anxiety and help pets settle, as seen in Baby’s routine where nighttime music acts as a comforting signal that it's time to relax. Monitoring subtle changes in your pet's behavior or condition is another essential practice. Keeping a detailed journal or log of treatment times, reactions, and progression can assist in managing complex diseases and provide valuable information during veterinary visits. It’s also vital to adjust care as your pet's needs evolve, always consulting with your vet to ensure the best approach. Moreover, emotional support cannot be underestimated. Pets derive immense comfort from the affection and dedication of their owners. Simple acts like gentle massages, extra cuddles, or even ensuring their favorite treats are part of the routine help reinforce their sense of safety and love. Lastly, sharing your journey, whether via social media, community groups, or crowdfunding platforms, can foster a supportive network. Many pet owners find solace and strength in connecting with others facing similar challenges, offering advice, encouragement, and companionship. All things considered, while managing a senior dog’s health conditions is daunting, these personal routines and small rituals bring immeasurable comfort to our beloved companions. The commitment to compassionate care truly pays off when you see them settle peacefully at night, ready to face each new day with courage and love.

God Bless you both 🥹
