Mallcation
Going on our first vacation with our daughter made me super anxious. The idea of us all getting away for a bit sound amazing but the “what if’s” were alarm bells in my head. So my fiancé and I found a way for us to get the vacation we so badly wanted, but also make it easy for us as new parents.
Pin pointing what we truly wanted from a vacation was a key factor in designing a good first vacation for our family. If you asked both of us we would have told you that we wanted to go to the beach. It didn’t seem completely practical at the beginning of the summer with our 4 month old daughter.
So we broke down the beach what did we want from the beach? It came down to basically these three things.
🧘Relaxation
- We found a very nice hotel near the mall we desired to spend time at. (We picked a large mall that I had never been to before but my fiancé had)
-Make sure to check amenities such as a pool or to see if your able to book a crib. Do not be afraid to call ahead. We had booked a room with a crib. 1 King 1 Crib was the reservation and when we arrived there they informed us that both the crib and packnplay they had to offer us were broken. This was the only hiccup we ran into during the trip but it could have been avoided.
🦀Good food
-Crabs, sea food and any fancy place we saw and wanted to try we tried. It was super fun to get to try new foods!
🛍️Shopping
-Check the mall ahead of time to make sure the stores your interested in visiting are still at the mall.
-I personally love to walk so I also enjoyed just being out in a climate controlled environment!
