Fitness Check-in

Checking in for the week of July 29 through August 3rd! Happy to report that I’ve been on the move and keeping up with my activities!

I started lifting light weights. It’s me and my 2 pound dumbness against the world! I have noticed that even with such little weigh with repetition I’m still sore afterwards! I chose Sunday as my rest day to let my muscles have a day off.

I’ve been thinking about being a soft 75, but I’m not quite sure what my “rules” should be. But I think it would be a fun way to jump start some good healthy habits.

I also started playing Pikmin Bloom which had encouraged me to get my steps in! We will have to wait until next week to see if my hard work paid off on the scale!

What are some of your top things to include in your hard/soft 75?

... Read moreI used to dread just walking for the sake of it, but honestly, Pikmin Bloom has been a game-changer for my daily step count! It's transformed what felt like a chore into a fun, engaging mission to grow my little plant army and collect new items. The best part is how seamlessly it integrates with my Apple Watch. I don't even need to have my phone constantly out – my watch tracks my movements, and Pikmin Bloom picks up those steps effortlessly. It’s like having a tiny cheerleader on my wrist, constantly reminding me to get up and explore my neighborhood, all while hitting some serious step goals. I've seen my average steps skyrocket, making my daily walk something I actually look forward to! The synergy between Pikmin Bloom and my smartwatch is incredible for staying motivated. My Apple Watch, for instance, not only logs every step I take for the game, but also keeps a close eye on my overall activity. Seeing those Move, Exercise, and Stand rings close each day is super satisfying, especially when my step count averages over 14,000 steps a day, like it did this past week! It’s not just about the game; it’s about having a comprehensive view of my activity. It even helps me track my calorie burn, like hitting nearly 1000 calories moved in a day – something I wouldn't be as aware of without the watch. It’s truly a powerful combination for anyone trying to boost their daily activity without feeling like it’s a grueling workout. Beyond just walking, this increased activity has really energized my whole fitness routine. I recently started incorporating light weight lifting – just 2-pound dumbbells, but wow, the soreness is real! It’s funny because I never thought I’d be a 'weight lifting girly,' but every little bit counts towards building strength. My Apple Watch also helps me track my workout minutes, showing I hit 59 minutes this week. And that's where the idea of a 'soft 75' challenge comes in. I'm exploring ways to set some achievable, healthy habits for myself over 75 days. Maybe it’s a certain amount of water, daily steps (definitely hitting those with Pikmin Bloom!), or consistent light workouts. Having my smartwatch track my exercise minutes and remind me to move has been invaluable in keeping me accountable and motivated to experiment with new routines. If you're looking for a fun way to get more active, I highly recommend trying Pikmin Bloom, especially if you have a smartwatch! Make sure your watch is linked to your health apps so Pikmin Bloom can pull data efficiently. Set small, achievable daily step goals within the game, and enjoy the process of seeing your little Pikmin thrive. Don't be afraid to explore new routes or even do a few laps around your house if the weather isn't great – every step truly adds up! It’s amazing how a simple game can turn movement into a joyful part of your day, making your fitness journey feel less like a chore and more like an adventure. What creative ways do you keep yourself moving?
