Weighted Hula Hoop ✨ Home Workout
I love hula hooping! I started out with a hoop that I found on Etsy. Then when Covid hit I was looking for a way to stay active at home. That’s when I found this weighted hula hoop online. It comes in sections that you can take a part for easy travel!
I really enjoy the workouts I’m able to get at home with my hoop. My body feels tired afterwards and I’m coved in sweat. 😅 Which is ultimately the goal with working out! I also like it because it allows me to do cardio and work out my abs without laying on the floor!Pop some music on, and it’s game time.
As far as my Apple Watch goes I’ve done a lot of research as to what other hula hoopers are using to track their activity. I and most of the other people have found that the Dance workout seems to work well for it! I did wish there was its own option.

Ever since I discovered my weighted hula hoop, my home workout routine has been completely transformed! It’s not just a fun activity; it’s a serious sweat-inducing session that really targets my core and gets my heart rate up. If you're curious about how to make the most of your weighted hoop at home and track your progress, here are some tips based on my own journey. First off, getting started is easier than you think. My hoop comes in sections, which is brilliant for storage and travel. When you first start, don't be discouraged if it takes a few tries. The key is a consistent rhythm and engaging your core muscles. I usually stand with one foot slightly in front of the other and try to move my hips forward and back, rather than in a circle. Pop on some music you love, and you’ll find yourself in a zone, getting a fantastic full-body workout without even realizing how much time has passed. Now, let's talk about tracking those amazing efforts with your Apple Watch! This was a big question for me, and after some research and trial and error, I found what many other hula hoopers use: the 'Dance' workout option. While I wish there was a dedicated hula hoop workout, 'Dance' does a surprisingly great job. To start, simply open the Workout app on your Apple Watch, scroll down to 'Dance,' and hit start. It accurately captures my active calories and heart rate, giving me a clear picture of my workout intensity. For example, my last session was a 23-minute 'Dance' workout, and it showed a solid 153 active calories burned with an average heart rate of 170 BPM – that’s a serious workout! After your session, don't forget to check your POST WORKOUT WORKOUT STATS on your Apple Watch. Just swipe through the screens to see details like total time, active calories, total calories, average heart rate, and even your heart rate recovery. This detailed feedback is super motivating and helps me understand how effectively I'm working out. Knowing I've burned around 150-200 calories in about 20-30 minutes of hula hooping is a huge boost, especially when I'm looking for an efficient way to get my cardio and abs in without needing a lot of space or equipment. For those wondering about calorie burn over 30 minutes, based on my 23-minute experience, you can definitely expect to burn upwards of 200 active calories, depending on your intensity and body weight. The heavier the hoop and the more consistent your movement, the more calories you'll torch. It's a fantastic way to boost your metabolism, strengthen your core, improve coordination, and relieve stress – all from the comfort of your home. So, if you're looking for a fun, effective, and low-impact way to get active, grab a weighted hula hoop and give it a spin!
