Day 18 of Soft 75
For some reason my body decided it was time to go at 5am. My daughter wasn’t even up yet so that wasn’t quite enjoyable for Sunday, but that’s okay.
I did get a good bit of my book read and I’m pretty sure I’ll be finishing it, on Monday!
Grapes and broccoli were on the menu for today. I did a hula hooping workout while my daughter was napping.
My dad had open heart surgery on Friday. So I have been searching for normalcy wherever I can find it.

The Soft 75 challenge is truly more than just a fitness routine; it's a profound journey of building sustainable habits and cultivating self-discipline, even when life throws unexpected curveballs. Seeing someone's Day 18 update, especially when they're navigating personal challenges, really underscores the spirit of consistency and resilience that this program fosters. It’s less about achieving perfection and more about showing up for yourself, day in and day out, making progress one step at a time. One of the biggest takeaways from tackling any 75-day challenge, especially Soft 75, is understanding how to integrate physical activity into your daily life. It’s easy to get overwhelmed thinking you need hours at the gym. However, the beauty of Soft 75 is its adaptability. If a traditional Workout Time isn't always feasible, getting creative is key. I've found that even short bursts of activity, like a quick hula hooping session while a little one naps, can contribute significantly to my daily CAL Exercise goals. Tracking simple metrics like your Steps Distance or monitoring your Active Calories and Heart Rate during these shorter sessions can be incredibly motivating. It helps you see that every bit of effort truly counts and accumulates over time. Nutrition, another cornerstone of Soft 75, also doesn't have to be overly complicated. The focus is on making healthier choices consistently. Seeing wholesome options like grapes and broccoli mentioned is a fantastic reminder to keep things simple and delicious. My approach often involves a bit of meal prepping on a Sunday, ensuring I have healthy snacks and components for meals ready to go. This makes sticking to the nutritional guidelines much easier, especially on busy days when decision fatigue sets in. It’s all about fueling your body efficiently to support your increased activity levels and overall well-being. Beyond the physical aspects, the mental game of Soft 75 is immensely important. There will be days when motivation is low, or bigger life events, such as supporting a family member through a health crisis, can feel all-consuming. This is precisely when the 'soft' aspect of the challenge becomes your greatest ally. It's about giving yourself grace while still maintaining your commitment. Finding small moments of normalcy and self-care, whether it's dedicating time to read a good book or simply ensuring you hit your water intake goals, helps maintain momentum without adding unnecessary pressure. These seemingly small acts of discipline build incredible mental resilience and remind you that you are capable of pushing through. Ultimately, the Soft 75 challenge isn't just about the 75 days; it's about cultivating sustainable habits that extend far beyond. It teaches you how to prioritize your health, adapt to life's demands, and build a stronger, more disciplined version of yourself. So, whether you're just starting or well into your journey on Day 18, keep celebrating your progress, from those increased Steps Distance to every successful Workout Time, and remember that each day is a testament to your commitment to a healthier, more balanced life.
