The Nap Time Dash
I have been a parent for 7 months now. I by no means have it all under control or figured out. But I have learned the magic of The Nap Time Dash, and the pinch of anxiety that comes with it.
Let’s talk about the anxiety first since that’s the fun part. For me I’m always worried that
A.) I’m not going to have enough to finish my task.
Thought to help the worry. “It’s okay we can return to it next nap”
B.) What if she wakes up and I’m putting laundry in or doing dishes?
Thought to help the worry. “She is in the safest place she can be. You will be there shortly.”
C.) I don’t know what to do with my time
Thought to help the worry. “It’s okay, sometimes you just need to relax a little instead of stressing so much”
Now the actually Nap Time Dash. This is the time period that I sometimes will quite literally run through my house getting things done while my daughter takes her nap. I never know how long they’re going to be so I just do my best to do what I can somewhat quickly.
Decisions paralysis is also a tricky one at this time. Because I truly don’t know how much time I will have it’s sometimes hard to choose which task to tackle. I also need to get better as feeling less guilty for taking time to rest while she naps instead of cleaning
