Have You Tasted? New Smart Sweets Tropical Sours
I found the new flavor of Smart Sweets at my local Target. I thought I would be a great contender to add to my Healthy Gummie try list. This will be number three that I have tried so far. What drew me into them was the claim that they were sour and the bright packaging.
We are going to start with the positive. These bad boys are sour sour. The flavors themselves are sour. You have three flavors to choose from Lime Twist, Pineapple Orange, and Tropical Punch. They also have the traditional sour coating that most sour candy has!
Let me just say, yes I am a sour girl but more on a Trolli sour gummy worm and not Warheads. These gummies are definitely for the girlies that like super sour things! They are definitely as advertised!!
Now the texture of a gummy can arguably be the most important part. The make or break moment. These gummies have a thinker consistency. Kind of reminded me of a super sour version of the Dots candy.
I do not for see myself rebuying these, but I’m not against trying Smart Sweets other gummies that are not sour. For 3 grams of sugar it definitely helped to satisfy my sweet tooth!

Okay, let's talk about what really makes Smart Sweets stand out, especially for those of us trying to be mindful of what we eat. When I grabbed that green bag of Tropical Sours, the '3g SUGAR PER BAG' instantly caught my eye – and let me tell you, that's a game-changer compared to many other treats. It's not just about the total sugars, but also that there are '0g Added Sugars,' which is fantastic for someone like me who's trying to cut down on processed sweeteners. Delving deeper into the nutrition facts, a full bag (which is a generous serving at 50g) comes in at '130 Calories'. For a satisfying snack that really kicks that sweet and sour craving, I found this to be incredibly reasonable. It's a guilt-free indulgence, rather than something that leaves you feeling like you overdid it. The OCR also highlighted these numbers, so it's clear these stats are a big selling point for the brand and for users searching for healthier alternatives. Beyond the numbers, the actual experience is what truly matters. The original review mentioned the 'Super Sour' kick, and I absolutely second that! These aren't just 'mildly tart' – they deliver a genuine, eye-watering sour punch from the get-go, similar to the coating on traditional sour candies, but also infused into the gummy itself. The 'Thick Texture' was another interesting point. It's not your typical soft, bouncy gummy. It has a chewier, almost denser consistency, which gives it more staying power and makes you savor each piece. It reminded me a bit of those classic Dots candies, but with an intense sour twist, making the experience quite unique. Let's not forget the '3 Flavors' – Lime Twist, Pineapple Orange, and Tropical Punch. For me, the Lime Twist was particularly zesty and vibrant, while the Pineapple Orange offered a nice balance of sweet and tangy. The Tropical Punch was a fun, more generic fruit flavor. Each one held up to the sour intensity, which isn't always the case with naturally flavored candies. These flavors genuinely complement the sourness without getting lost. For anyone searching for a healthier gummy option that doesn't compromise on flavor or that satisfying sour kick, these Smart Sweets Tropical Sours are definitely worth considering. They truly deliver on their promise of being 'Super Sour' while keeping the sugar content incredibly low. If you're a fan of intensely sour treats but want to avoid the sugar crash, this might just be your new go-to. I can see these being perfect for a movie night, a little pick-me-up during the day, or even as a post-workout treat when you need something sweet but clean. It's great to know there are options out there that hit the spot without derailing your healthy eating goals. I'm definitely curious to explore other Smart Sweets varieties after this experience, as the brand seems to understand how to make healthier treats genuinely enjoyable!
