Pre-Valentine’s Day Dinner
Last year Valentine’s Day I was 6 days postpartum. Since I had given us the ultimate Valentine’s Day gift a few days earlier, we didn’t do too much last year. This year I wanted to do something special for my fiancé. I constantly tell him how much I love him and appreciate him. A little something special around Valentine’s Day never hurt anyone.
We had a salad. A heart pizza from Aldi’s, and a conversation heart cake that I made! I also gifted him part of his Valentine’s Day gift early so he could enjoy it throughout the day!
With becoming parents the moments we have with just us, have become very valuable. It was so much fun to get all dressed up to enjoy what I had prepared for us! He has something planned for actual Valentine’s Day.
How do you show your partner your love during Valentine’s Day?

Who says Valentine's Day has to be just one day? I absolutely love extending the celebration, especially when life gets busy (hello, new parents!). Celebrating a 'Pre-Valentine's Day' has become our little secret to a more relaxed and meaningful romantic moment. It’s perfect for beating the restaurant rush and creating something truly personal at home. Think about it: fewer crowds, easier reservations (if you venture out), and the chance to spread out the affection. Plus, as my original post shared, busy schedules sometimes mean you need a 'warm-up' before the main event. It allows you to focus on each other without the pressure of the actual day. My go-to this year was a super easy heart-shaped pizza from Aldi’s, paired with a simple but fresh salad. But don't stop there! You could try making homemade pasta together, or even a fancy charcuterie board. If you're feeling a bit more culinary adventurous, a cozy fondue night is always a winner. And for dessert? My homemade conversation heart cake with 'BE MINE' frosting was a huge hit! You can easily recreate this with a store-bought cake mix and some creative icing. Don’t forget the presentation – a red tablecloth, heart-themed napkins, and even some fun red champagne flutes really set the mood, just like we did. Beyond the food, setting the scene makes all the difference. Dim lighting, a favorite playlist, and maybe some scattered rose petals can transform your dining area. Even a simple detail like a bowl of croutons shaped like hearts for your salad adds a sweet touch. It's about showing you put thought into the experience. But a Pre-Valentine's Day isn't just about dinner! Consider a movie marathon with your partner's favorite films, a cozy board game night, or even a couple's spa evening at home with face masks and massages. If you both appreciate the 'Love Language' of Quality Time, just being together, uninterrupted, is the real gift. For those whose 'Love Language' is Gifts, perhaps an early, thoughtful present. Or if it's Acts of Service, doing a chore they dislike can be incredibly romantic. The beauty of a Pre-Valentine's celebration is that it doesn't have to break the bank. My heart pizza from Aldi's was budget-friendly and delicious! Focus on personal touches that resonate with your partner. It's about celebrating your unique bond and making memories, whether it's with an elaborate meal or a simple, heartfelt gesture. What are your favorite ways to make the pre-Valentine's period special?
