I was thrilled to see that Blogilates was doing another collaboration with Target. Thanks to all the hard work I’ve been doing, I was in need of new workout leggings. I bought the Blogilates Women’s Crisscross High-Rise Leggings in Steal Blue for $35. Which personally is a little steep for leggings. Although I really like the crisscross feature, the cut of the leggings, and how they fit me.
Now that I have washed them five times I have some comments. I’ll start with the praise. I love the fit and color of these leggings.
As for the Con’s these leggings started to peel after the first wash. If I rubbed my hand again the legging small bits of the fabric would rub off. Next the inner thigh of these leggings are already looking rough. Last the pockets threads are now coming loose. For me a legging for $35 shouldn’t be doing these things so early in my ownership of them.

It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of new workout gear, and Blogilates leggings often catch my eye with their stylish designs and comfortable fit. Like many of you, I'm constantly on the hunt for that perfect pair of leggings that not only looks great but also stands the test of time, whether I'm doing a Pilates flow or just running errands.
When it comes to Blogilates leggings, many people, including myself, are initially drawn to their unique features like the crisscross waistband and the vibrant color options. They often promise a flattering, high-rise fit that hugs in all the right places, making you feel confident during your workouts. The article mentioned loving the fit and color, and honestly, that's often the first impression for many of us. Finding workout leggings that make you feel good is half the battle, and Blogilates usually delivers on that initial aesthetic and comfort.
However, the real test for any pair of leggings, especially those in the $35 range, is how they hold up to repeated wear and washes. The original review highlighted a common issue: pilling and loose threads after just a few washes. This is something I've experienced myself with various brands, and it can be incredibly frustrating. To help extend the life of your beloved Blogilates leggings or any activewear, I've learned some crucial care tips:
First, always turn your leggings inside out before washing. This protects the outer surface from friction with other clothes, which is a major cause of pilling. Second, use cold water and a gentle cycle. Hot water can break down the elastic fibers (like spandex), leading to stretching and a loss of shape. Third, avoid harsh detergents and fabric softeners. Fabric softener can actually clog the moisture-wicking properties of activewear fabrics and contribute to pilling. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, air dry your workout leggings whenever possible. The high heat from a dryer is a notorious culprit for damaging elastic and accelerating wear and tear, causing those dreaded loose threads and weakening the fabric structure.
While the steel blue color might have been the initial draw, many of us also gravitate towards classic black leggings for their versatility. Regardless of color, looking for durable fabrics is key. Most workout leggings, including Blogilates, are made from synthetic blends like polyester and spandex, which are great for stretch and sweat-wicking but can be prone to pilling if not cared for properly. Paying attention to the fabric blend and density can give you a hint about its potential durability. A thicker, denser fabric might resist pilling better than a very thin, brushed one.
Ultimately, investing in good quality workout leggings, even at a moderate price like $35, should mean they last more than a few washes. It's a balance between style, comfort, and durability. By understanding how to care for them and what to look for in terms of fabric and construction, we can make more informed choices and hopefully avoid the disappointment of premature wear and tear.
