Let’s Try Olipop Ridge Rush

I was very excited to try Ridge Rush because when I was still drinking soda in August. Mountain Dew was one of my favorites. Ridge Rush is supposed to be comparable to the Mountain Dew flavor that so many of us love.

I will mention that I have had a Mountain Dew since “quitting” soda and it didn’t taste like the Mountain Dew that I was used to. That being said when trying Ridge Rush I could definitely taste some of the same notes as I did in Mountain Dew. Although with trying this one. I think I enjoy their fruity flavors a bit more than the ones that are spin off’s of our soda favorites. I still have a handful of favors to still try! Which is exciting but I’m also building up my mental list of flavors I enjoy!

Do you like Olipop?

... Read moreOkay, so you've heard the buzz about Olipop Ridge Rush, and like me, you're probably wondering: does it actually live up to the Mountain Dew comparison? I've been on a journey of trying different 'new kind of sodas' that claim to support digestive health, and this one definitely caught my eye. When I first cracked open the can, labeled so boldly with 'A New Kind of Soda' promising to 'Support Digestive Health,' I was instantly transported back to my days of enjoying Mountain Dew. The aroma has those classic citrusy, slightly sweet, and almost herbal notes that are so distinctive. Pouring it into a glass, you get that familiar bright yellow-green hue, and the fizz looks inviting. Taking that first sip, I definitely detected 'similar notes to Mountain Dew!' It has that bright, zesty lime and orange flavor profile that's iconic. However, it's not a perfect replica, and frankly, that's okay. What I found was a more nuanced sweetness – less syrupy than traditional Mountain Dew, and with an underlying complexity that I attribute to the prebiotics and plant fibers Olipop uses. It feels lighter on the palate, and thankfully, without that intense sugar crash afterward. The big question, 'Does it really taste like Mountain Dew?' For me, it's a strong 'yes, but with a twist.' If you're expecting an exact clone, you might be slightly surprised, but pleasantly so. It captures the essence, but in a way that feels more mature and, well, 'healthier' without sacrificing the fun. The OCR noted '5/10' in terms of similarity, and I think that's a fair assessment, leaning towards a good effort rather than an identical match. It successfully evokes the nostalgia while offering something distinctly Olipop. Beyond the taste, what really makes Olipop stand out is its commitment to digestive wellness. Unlike traditional sodas, Ridge Rush is designed to be good for your gut, packed with prebiotics. This is why it's considered 'A New Kind of Soda' – it's about enjoying a fizzy drink without the guilt, and actually getting some benefits. For someone like me who enjoys a refreshing beverage but is also conscious about what I put into my body, it's a game-changer. It's a great option if you're exploring best prebiotic colas or looking for healthier alternatives to your old favorites. While I personally lean towards Olipop's fantastic fruity flavors, Ridge Rush is a solid contender, especially if you're a former Mountain Dew fan. It’s a nostalgic trip with a modern, health-conscious twist. I'd recommend giving it a try, especially if you're curious about how a soda can 'Support Digestive Health' while still delivering on flavor. It's definitely worth adding to your list of 'Olipop flavors' to explore!
