Stanley VS Owala
When I was gifted my Stanley from Lemon8 I was very excited to see how I would like it. After using it for a little over the month and my review is in. In this case I will be comparing Stanley with Owala. In both cases these water bottles were gifted to me. Although I did have an Owala in college.
There are three big differences in these two cups. My Stanley cup is 8oz larger than the Owala and is also capable of transporting hot and cold beverages. While it is suggested to only put cold liquids in the Owala. I have personally only used both of my cups for cold beverages. So the Stanley being able to carry hot liquids isn’t a huge bonus for me, but it might be for you. The last difference is the drinking mechanism. For Stanley you get a tradition straw lid, Owala has a covered straw/chug area.
Personally for this last reason alone pushes me towards Owala. I’m personally am proned to tipping my drinks over. With the Stanley you will spill water if you knock it over. The top reason I choose to ditch my Stanley. You heard that right. Is the lid. This tumblr is the hardest tumblr I have ever tried to open. The lid is completely smooth on the stop which makes it really hard to open. It had gotten to the point where I kept a latex glove in my kitchen strictly to open my Stanley. Which was honestly surprising to me considering the price tag that is attached to Stanley.
Are you a Stanley or an Owala girlie? If neither I hope you have a super cool water bottle to get your water in!!

Okay, so after my initial review comparing Stanley and Owala, I wanted to dive a little deeper into why the Owala bottle has truly become my ride-or-die. When I first got my hands on an Owala, I heard all the buzz, especially about its unique design, but I didn't fully grasp just how much it would improve my daily hydration routine. One of the absolute game-changers for me, and something I know many 'Owala bottle' fans rave about, is the FreeSip spout. It’s not just a straw; it’s this brilliant combination of a built-in straw for sipping and a wider opening for chugging, all under one protective lid. Seriously, once you try it, you realize how much more convenient it is to switch between sipping and taking big gulps without changing lids or fumbling around. This patented design is what really sets it apart from many other water bottles on the market, making it feel like a truly innovative 'new release' experience, even if the core design has been around for a bit. The fact that my Owala is generally a 32oz bottle is another point I appreciate. While my Stanley was a 40oz behemoth, sometimes that extra capacity felt a bit cumbersome. The 32oz Owala is just the right size for me to carry comfortably, fit into most cup holders (a huge plus for road trips!), and still holds enough water to keep me hydrated for a good chunk of the day. Plus, I don't feel like I'm lugging around a small child's weight! And yes, as the OCR pointed out, it's designed for cold liquids only, which is perfect for my needs since I primarily drink cold water. I've found it keeps my water icy for hours, even on warm days, which is exactly what I need. And let's talk about durability and value. I've accidentally dropped my Owala a few times (clumsy me!), and it's held up remarkably well. A few minor scuffs, but no major dents or cracks, which speaks volumes. When you consider the retail price of around $34.99, it feels like an excellent investment for a daily essential. Compared to some of the higher-priced options out there, like the $45 retail for a 40oz Stanley, the Owala offers fantastic features and reliability at a slightly more accessible price point. Cleaning is another aspect where the Owala shines. The lid disassembles easily, allowing me to thoroughly clean every nook and cranny, which is crucial for hygiene. No weird straw parts that are impossible to reach or lids that trap grime! This attention to practical details is why I think the Owala continues to be so popular and why people are always on the lookout for 'Owala new release' colors or special editions. It's a product that truly considers the user's everyday experience, making hydration not just easy, but genuinely enjoyable. For anyone still on the fence, I really can't recommend giving the Owala a try enough – it's transformed how I stay hydrated!
